Yes, we're having an open thread for Ohio. Come for the MACtion, stay for the friendly insight.

BG kickoff returned to the Ohio 27 yard line.

Ohio with a nice handoff on third and short to the BG 20. The QB profits from a bad corner angle from BG and picks up three.

Pass is working, runs up the middle working.

Beau Blankenship's role is to be beat up every 20 feet or so, but it works for the Bobcats.

...and we have a TD with less than 6 minutes played. 7-0 Bobcats. We have full MACtion.

The Falcons' QB more or less receives his own pass and gets tackled for a loss of 8 yards, forcing a punt. It isn't every day that a pass breakup turns into an almost textbook reception for the guy who threw  the pass.

Did I miss something or did about seven Falcons just miss a tackle in the same pile? There was an eerie delay there too, which made me think - initially - the RB was down. My bad. #MACtion

Pretty horrible deep ball thrown a minute ago by BGSU QB (the one almost picked off the side of the helmet). I was very impressed with Ball State's QB last night howevs

The northeast-southeast running game is still getting first downs for the Bobcats. I think they should have stuck with it there.

Also, BG does an Isiah Lewis impersonation and gives the ball right back to the Bobcats. In the MAC, that could be the game with 11:45 to go in the 2nd.

Wow. Beuatifully executed fake by the Falcons and the Bobcats bought every single bit of it. 55 yard reception for a TD. 14-7 BGSU now.

Meanwhile, in the offensive backfield, "You mean he didn't have the ball? What happened just then?"

Remember when everyone said "Who's going to beat Ohio? They'll be favored in every game! They'll go undefeated!!!". This is why you don't extrapolate a whole season from 3 or 4 games

My daughter is a grad student down there... she doesn't give a crap about football, but since a nice chunk of my change has gone into BGSU's coffers I'm rooting for them. I went to a game there a couple of years ago against Kent State... what a bizarre experience compared to watching a game inside Michigan Stadium.

The Falcons' horizontal passing game needs to be...a little less horizontal, and definitely in bounds a little more often. Still, the  Falcons punt it away and the Bobcats get a shot at taking the lead on their own 16....

Ohio's special teams unit has been absolutely atrocious. The ST coach literally threw his hands up in the air on that last punt block like "WTF is happening?".

Bowling Green has been pretty impressive -- though Ohio has really laid an egg with this one. It should make the MAC race more interesting the last few weeks of the season.

but they have a ton of teams with good records right now. 6 teams are better than 6-3 including Kent State (8-1), Toledo (7-2), Northern Illinois (9-1) and Ohio (8-1). Usually the MAC seems to be the team with a champion that has an overall record of 7-5 with a 6-2 conference record. Looks like they may have one or two teams with one-loss seasons and they may even have a title game featuring two ranked opponents

NIU has been pretty good over the last three years. They had two 11-3 records and as you said above they are currently 9-1 this year. The big test will be next week against Toledo. They've won their last 18 out of 19 games, 20 straight at home amd their QB Jordan Lynch is tearing it up. Pretty good as far as MAC schools go.

Since I'm a student at BGSU I went out and celebrated our victory. Good thing OU doesn't practice punt pro at practice.

May we run the ball equally as well against NW.

EDIT: Mr. Spots delivers beer to my doorstep now. It's the little things.
