Uh, this is Michigan fergodsakes so I want us in the Rose Bowl.
Anyone who prefers the Citrus Bowl to the Rose Bowl is nuts.

to you.

but the reason to go to the Rose Bowl shouldn't be out of fear of some over-rated SEC team.

play the Pac-10 in the Grand-daddy of them all.
November 4th, 2012 at 10:25 PM ^
Florida's a bit like Nebraska this year, but with a slower QB. They are pretty conservative on offense and play very good defense. They would be a very good matchup if you needed to take a nap on New Year's Day.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:15 PM ^
Since when does Nebraska have a good defense?

Well, the Blackshirts TOTALLY shut down Michigan!

Penn State has got this.

1. Totally agree with Oreg St as preferable opponent
2. Did you retyped the whole table or does ESPN actually refer to Staee as State?
3. If ND is going to make the BCS I think I'd like to see them get pounded by Bama/LSU or shredded by Oregon...
November 4th, 2012 at 10:04 PM ^
I retyped it. They don't deserve to have the word "Michigan" in their name.

Effort acknowledged and appreciated. You seem particularly devoted. In fact, I might consider you a ... Wolverine Devotee!
Thanks for the effort.

A win over an SEC team would do some good as far as national perception, I'd like a matchup with either Florida or Georgia

Texas Tech vs. USC | Oklahoma State vs. USC |
Wow...Valero Alamo!!

Just win baby.

I think Nebraska will drop a game and the OSU game will decide wether we go to the B1G championship or not. But yeah I'd much rather play oregon state or basically anyone from the Pac 10 besides oregon than Georgia or Florida
November 4th, 2012 at 10:16 PM ^
Urban Legend will try to stop us any way he can; legally or otherwise.

Those are my two alma maters so it would be a great time. But I would be rooting for Michigan 100%. I only have one true love when it comes to college athletics.

If Ohio is 11-0 when we play, history is on UM's side since the Buckeyes enjoy cocking up a perfect season.

Go Penn State!!!!!!

Oregon state in the rose bowl as an at large? Doubtful. They'll have 2 or 3 losses by the end of the season. Still have to play Stanford and Oregon. Notre Dame or Oklahoma are more likely at this point.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:03 PM ^
does what ever it can to keep the Big Ten/Pac 12 match up possible - remember 9-3 Illinois getting an at-large berth a few years ago. A 2 loss Oregon St is almost a given to be an at-large for the Rose Bowl. A 3 loss team will depend on whether they qualify for an at-large berth.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:10 PM ^
Remember TCU getting a rose bowl berth over a Stanford team whos only loss was to the NCG runner up oregon in 2010?
November 4th, 2012 at 11:16 PM ^
that was implemented that forced the Rose Bowl to take TCU that year?
"For the games in January 2011 through 2014, the first year the Rose Bowl loses a team to the NCG and a team from the non-AQ group is an automatic qualifier, that non-AQ team will play in the Rose Bowl."
November 5th, 2012 at 8:23 AM ^
A 3 loss team will depend on whether they qualify for an at-large berth.
That is the reason why Oregon State likely won't play in the Rose Bowl. They will have two late season losses (assuming they lose to Stanford and Oregon, as I think they will) which will very likely drop them out of the Top 14 in the BCS poll.
November 5th, 2012 at 9:35 AM ^
Can't see the Rose bowl not taking a PAC 12 team if there is one eligible. With the playoff stuff still being sorted out no bowl is going to want to irittate any of their conference partners.
November 4th, 2012 at 10:23 PM ^
If they make different projections every week, they don't really ever have to know what they're doing, because they have a built-in excuse. Also, they can eventually get a lot of the teams correct that way: just not all in the same week.

Please let Michigan get to the Rose Bowl and face Oregon State. What an easy matchup that would be. Not that they are bad. But they aren't Oregon, USC or some SEC school in Florida.
November 4th, 2012 at 10:30 PM ^
It's very well possible that we have 4 very competent teams going undefeated this season: Alabama, Oregon, Notre Dame, and Kansas State. It's a real shame that only two of them get to play for the Championship. I wish they could have the 4-team playoff this year.
November 4th, 2012 at 10:52 PM ^
Dont count us out yet bros. It wasn't too long ago when they had us in the Rose Bowl. Crazy things happen and Nebraska isn't immune and they play PSU.
November 4th, 2012 at 11:17 PM ^
I could see LSU slipping to the Capital One bowl, which would be an interesting match up if we also eneded up there. I'm still pulling for the Rose, but I don't know if Nebraska will lose another with their schedule.
November 5th, 2012 at 12:59 AM ^
I don't see Michigan scoring a point against LSU especially when they have 2 1st round DE in Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery.
November 5th, 2012 at 3:15 AM ^
Good thing we have the best LT in the country.
November 5th, 2012 at 10:09 AM ^

an at-large berth to a BCS bowl if Nebraska, Michigan, and OSU remain undefeated going into The Game?
I'd imagine Michigan will be about 20th if we beat both NW and Iowa and Ohio will probably be in the top 5 in the Coaches poll if they are 11-0. I can't help but feel but there's a chance that Michigan can jump to the top 14 if they pull out the win.
Of course, a lot of things will have to roll our way (and Rose bowl will be preferable) but it's an interesting scenario.
Even if this BCS doesn't happen, I think there's a good chance that we'll jump Nebraska in the rankings if this scenario does play out despite the extra game that Nebraska plays as well - I'm sure the internet will go crazy in either case :)

I'd rather play Georgia just because we haven't .
I have to believe LSU would also be in line for that bowl game, would make an intrigueing selection for the media. Miles v Hoke
Kind of hard to fill your bowl slots when administrators keep doing dumb things.
