Seems like the two major takeaways here is McGary is someone who can maybe protect the rim, which is a new thing for us and most importantly it looks like Albrecht can spell Burke without having the offense totally stall, which should let us play Burke big minutes in March without losing effectiveness.

I can't wait for this team to take on someone with a pulse...I really want to see them play at 100%...It just seems like they are toying with Northern....and by toying, I mean destroying.

As a captain is wrong. . I don't care how hard he works in practice or how whether he's an upperclassman you don't name the least talened player (by a longshot) on your team captain.

Neg me to Bolivia it's true.

The best players doesn't necessarily mean that they're a good captain.  It's about displaying leadership and is a calming influence to the team.  Bartelstein displayed that characteristics.  The players voted for Bartelstein so he earned it.

Very, very promising start. Very happy to see a lot of our holes filled. Rim protection, check. Viable back up PG, check and then some. True three point assassin, check. Athleticism, check.  Morgan looks like he's really stepped up his game. I'm really looking forward to this season. Also, Backwoods Bastard is delicious.

Are there going to be enough basketballs to go around for this team?

We laid 83 on NMU without Trey Burke or Jon Horford. It will be interesting to see how Trey distributes and gets his points with so many scoring threats up and down the bench.

It should be a lot of fun watching this team throughout the season and we shouldn't see those long scoring droughts that we have seen in seasons past.

"On using exhibition games to determine redshirts:

We’ll probably look at them. I think we have necessities in a lot of areas where it would be tough to redshirt some, but if we feel somebody’s not going to get significant playing time and he’d be a great one to have in a fifth year, we’d make sure they had all the information they needed to make that decision."

This team is absolutely loaded.  Optimism is further secured because Michigan honestly has the best coach in the country.  Nobody gets their guys to play defense, make adjustments, and get open looks better than Johnny Basketball.  Coaching is key.
