Predictions for Mich/NMU bball

Submitted by goblue85 on

Looking forward to this season and the New Crisler.  I'm very excited to see these freshman play.  I think Robinson III is going to be a special player for us.   Go Blue!!!

Glenn Robinson III does something that makes everyone's jaw drop.

Stauskas shows flashes of his shooting ability but misses a few because of first game jitters.

McGary doesn't dominate because of his leg thing and people freak out unnecessarily.

will this preseson game be on B1G Network?  Hope so - I'm overseas and want to stream it.  Crazy as its only a preseason game, but I am so excited for UM bball season to begin, and I'm very interesting/curious to see how the new boys play.

The game is listed in the live events tab at BTN.com, but a subscription to their network is $14.95 per month or $119.95 per year, but there are student discounts for member institutions, of course ($9.99 per month or $79.95 per year, if memory serves).

As others have mentioned, all signs point to the game being streamed on MGoBlue.com, so that's definitely the better bet, but if BTN is the provider, I wonder if you have to sign up for it.

My OSU friend has a subscription but still could not get the OSU game to play two nights ago despite much effort from both of us.  To make a long story short, I was thoroughly unimpressed with both the BTN site and their customer service...Also, remember that signing up for BTN.com means that you have an ongoing subscription, i.e., you will be charged every month until you cancel.

I think something like 98-48. We'll see the starters play some solid minutes in the first half but by the 2nd half the bench will be seeing the rest of the time out there.

In an effort just to be helpful, game is on BTN.com and is being done by BigTenStudentU.  I didn't say on MGoBlue, so I figured I'd share that, since I'd heard some confusion.

Trey Burke for the game due to suspension for an unspecified violation of team rules, and get to see how Spike, Timmay, and even Nik Stauskus perform at the point. Should be darned interesting.

Michigan wins easily. Does anyone else find it odd that college basketball gets an exhibition game when the regular season doesn't matter so much but college football doesn't get anything when their regular season means everything. Just wondering if anyone else felt the same?

Kinda sorta. The only thing is that with football the season means everything so you don't want to risk any injuries in an exhibition. Plus you can schedule a weak school and basically get an exhibition anyway....of course sometimes that backfires.

I've wondered if the exhibition games aren't more for the benefit of the opponents. Traveling squads like Athletes in Action and small schools get some exposure. It's not hard to schedule creampuffs.with almost 350 teams in Division 1.

I don't like seeing anyone suspended for a game, but that is the way things are done at Michigan.  When JB looks into the eyes of a parent and tells them he will help develop their sons into young men, they know he is telling the truth.

This is especially impressive when one considers that, 65 miles or so away, the two players who took part in the Wonders Hall Coverup are starting.  JB is to be commended for making personal development more important than a basketball game.

On the floor, the great part about this is that Spike is going to get a chance to be "the man" at PG against a real, live opponent.  This playing time should help him develop, and should help jump start his career in the Maize and Blue.  The sooner he becomes a dependable substitute, the better the team is.

Not only that, but Burke's absence may force Hardaway into more of a ball handling capacity, and he needs to work toward being a reliable secondary ball handler.  I am also interested to see Burke's disposition as I am assuming he is going to be on the bench.  I know I am in the minority but I have my concerns regarding  Burke considering the NBA flirtations and the "it is my life" tweets, etc.  The suspension has done nothing to ease my concerns and I hope to see him as the number 1 cheerleader on the bench tonight.

Trey Burke scores 75 points in a 75-20 blowout.  /s

It's an exhibition game.  As long as we get the W I don't care what the score is.  I just hope there is a way to watch the game somewhere, I can't wait to see what this team can do.

According to NMU 's website:

The NMU men’s basketball team opens the 2012-13 season with an exhibition game at the University of Michigan on Thursday. Doug Lewis enters his third season as the head coach. The Wildcats finished 9-17 last season and 5-14 in the GLIAC. The game can be viewed onBTN.com |  Season Preview | Michigan Game Notes

I saw a video link (like others have said) on MGoBlue.com,  so i'd check there first, if not, then maybe BTN is streaming it.

Trey Burke getting suspended could actually be good for michigan, it'll be good to see how good spike does and good that his first big playing time isn't in a high pressure situation

76- 52 Michigan wins... WOOOOOOO.. Borges is going to be there inline for food you will see him.. He is working on his food calling not his play calling. He runs this power food offense where he shoves his face full of food when he is calling plays
