2012 Wallpaper - Minnesota

Submitted by Ames on

This will be the first time sharing a wallpaper with MGoBlog. I have made a few in the past but only shared with family, who of course all bleed Maize & Blue.  Hope you all enjoy.

I wanted to go with a history theme for the Minnesota game. I know as of recently there has not been much of a rivalry between the two schools, Blue winning 19 of the last 20 meetings. Minnesota has had its streaks in the series as well and the history of the jug is intriguing to me. I chose players for the wallpaper based on personal preference of course but also because each was a great at their own time. I added a subtle little "pass & catch" order to the players showing that the honor of winning it has been passed from Team #30 down to Team #133.

Sadly, I am a little more nervous than usuual that we will the "Little Brown Jug". Please God, help us Denard to stay healthy so that we don't lose to a "Fringe Bowl Team".

Good point, but the guidelines also note:

"This mark [split block M] is being phased out, and should be used only in settings where there is a need to graphically distinguish Michigan from another university with an "M" as the logo (e.g., University of Minnesota)."

I mean, we all know the difference between the Minnesota M and the Michigan Block M, but I guess if there was ever a time for the OP to use the split M, it would be now according to the guidelines.

except, it must be necessary to pull out the split M when playing teams that begin with an "N" as well.  That's the only reason I can think of as to why Denard was wearing a split M on the back of his jacket last week while sidelined for the 2nd half.  The split M is so dated looking compared to the new M... I'm in favor of never seeing the split M again.
