Polls are out

Texas still rolling top 25 after barely beating Kansas. ND holding tight at 4, which will be an interesting thing to watch down the line.

AP Poll

Coaches Poll

edit: anyone know where we can see some of the results of that poll/contest we did at the beginning of the year? Pick 1 team top 5, 1 team ranked 5-10...etc...

I know I already feel dirty. On the other hand, I remember last year when State at the time could've really used a Michigan win over Nebraska but still stated he wouldn't root for Michigan. I hate MSU, but they're an afterthought to a big ten title right now, so for us to reach that goal, go sparty. That is the key difference between the two fan bases, we have bigger goals, their season revolves around us.

UM isn't your typical 3-loss team given the nature of the losses, but they also haven't beaten anyone with a pulse save for MSU, and that is a bit of a stretch.  If they aren't competing for a title the rankings are somewhat irrelevant.  I think this team will finish strong, but we've seen the future without Denard and it is a bit scary.

With Denard we can barely score a touchdown against a decent team.  Without him we won't beat Minnesota.  Denard, god bless him, IS our offense.  Without him we have NO running game and with him we barely have a passing game.

We need to get real, we beat MSU bcause ouf our defense and field goal kickers.  We lost to Bama and ND and Nebrasks because our offense is weak and our offensive gameplan is mind-boggling.

Also, Alabama needs 101% of the first place votes; I know Mississippi State isn't a world beating team, but just like every other game they've played this season, that was just a foregone conclusion. Absolute domination.

Agree ... right now it's Alabama and ... maybe three or four teams.  Then everyone else.

If Alabama does to LSU what I expect they will, then it's then simply a matter of who gets the honor of going into the NC game to go up against the 'Bama team. I don't see Georgia doing any better against Alabama in the SEC championship than they did last year.

Barring the really unexpected, Alabama should torch Notre Dame or Kansas State.  That leaves Oregon.  But Oregon, like many spread teams, is vulnerable if the defensive line gets penetration ... and that's one thing Alabama is really good at.

I expect the best bowl games will be the non-NC ones.

Polls are just depressing to me now.  Kind of like watching the playcalling of Borges.  Denard is like Achilles in Troy, the best way to use him is to turn him loose.

This should be OT just on principal. Rankings and Michigan football have nothing in common anymore, this year. When I still had some confidence in our offense, the rankings were relevant. Now that its pretty clear we can't run the ball, throw the ball, catch the ball, block, or score touchdowns, its a pointless discussion.

They also put 48 points on Stanford, 59 on Oklahoma State, 35 on Oregon State, etc. (besides putting 38 on and beating USC, which Michigan hasn't done ...).  Anyone who has watched RR's first year offense in Arizona and our second year offense with Borges can only weap for our team (and post negative posts, like I do).

Why would we be weeping?  Even though they scored 48 on Stanford, they gave up 54.  Even though they scored 35 on Oregon St, they gave up 38.  The one stud team on their schedule, Oregon, shut them out.  Seems like nothing has changed since his days at UM.

There's a reason why ND, Bama and KState are all undefeated.  They have really good defenses.

it's sad that it took you this long. HellI had to help you figure it out lmao. Bottom line is Michigan will not achieve a national championship under Hoke and Borges. You'll have back to back losing seasons in the next two years and get crushed by Ohio State this year and give Meyer his first win over UM. It's time to wake up to reality and realize Michigan has become nothing more than a mediocre B10 team in a "lives in the past" pathetic conference. Michigan won't win another national title for years to come. The days of glory of this school as a national title contender are slowly starting to close and everyone can see it. SEC will be a power house for years to come. So get use to it. ROLL TIDE!
