McGary is practicing, but Beilein says he's been limited somewhat as he continues to get treatment on a previous leg injury.

At least McGary can still practice and we dont have a major contest for a while.

How does one "heal up?"
October 25th, 2012 at 12:24 PM ^
I am going to cover my eyes with my hands and act like this isn't happening.
October 25th, 2012 at 12:26 PM ^
Injuries happen every year -- hopefully we got ours out of the way early, and these guys have time to recover.
October 25th, 2012 at 12:54 PM ^
Yes, because players getting injured early decreases the chances that players will be injured later.
October 25th, 2012 at 12:59 PM ^
well that is how odds work right ? Injuries have a 100% chance to happen, they already happened so now it's 0%. AMIRIGHT ?

than in February/March.
I hope they are nothing serious and they both heal up fast!
October 25th, 2012 at 12:36 PM ^
If these injuries turn out to be serious, put me in the group of people who will think, "This season really was too good to be true."
October 25th, 2012 at 12:38 PM ^
to both of them!
I can deal with twists, bumps and bruises. Just so long as we don't hear terms like "tear" or "break".
October 25th, 2012 at 1:38 PM ^
But I heard that Mcgary is really tearing it up on the fastbreak in practice!
October 25th, 2012 at 12:38 PM ^
Well, Horford was out most of last year, so hopefully the team is used to working without him. Sounds like McGary will recover; and probably wouldn't hurt to keep the freshman's minutes lean early on in case he is needed later in the season. But yeah, this isn't fun to hear.

looked very coordinated to me, like some parts of his body have to catch up to others when he moves. Could lead to some awkward landings when he has stop, jump, and land quickly, or when he does not have complete balance when he lands. It does seem like they are all leg injuries. Just a theory.

Im torn in how to vote on the thread OP. Do I upvote it for being informative, especially with the quoted tweets which was very insightful, or do I downvote it because it is bad news that I didn't want to hear?

when we will hear something difinitive? man, I hope McGary is just nicked up or something and Horford please don't be hurt too seriously, crossing fingers for some good news
October 25th, 2012 at 1:51 PM ^
Sounds like Horford has a MCL/ACL issue. Not good. Wouldn't count on him being back or contributing until after the new year.

October 25th, 2012 at 2:06 PM ^
just trying to stay optimistic. An MCL would give him an opportunity to be back this season. If he can't, it looks like we may have to revert to the classic Beilien 4-guard formation (pending McGary, depth, and a whole bunch else).
October 25th, 2012 at 2:14 PM ^
October 25th, 2012 at 2:56 PM ^
Do you have any reason, what so ever, for saying it's an MCL/ACL? Or are you just trying to get everyone worked up?
October 25th, 2012 at 3:08 PM ^
If it appears on the internets, you know its true. I mean, CRAIG JAMES ALLEGEDLY KILLED 5 HOOKERS!

Perhaps some more recent info/speculation (tweeted a couple hours ago):
Rumblings of month to six weeks for jon horford with knee injury. Not yet confirmed. #fb

The full write-up is now on AnnArbor.com - (LINK)
It mentions that McGary is "working on something with his ankle and foot", also mentioning that some will just be on the bike during sprints as well to build up strength. There are still no specifics for Horford's injury, but "twisted a knee" doesn't sound good initially, so hopefully we get some word soon. Regardless, I wish both of them a speedy recovery.
