Brock Mealer Prepares To Walk Down The Aisle At His Wedding

Submitted by Marley Nowell on

Dec. 22, two days before the five-year anniversary of the night the lives of Brock Mealer and his entire family changed, he will get married.

He met Haley Frank less than two years ago after escorting her to a fundraiser at a Fricker's restaurant for a young cancer patient. At that point, Mealer was invited to attend all sorts of events to tell his story or to just be there as a source of inspiration.

But this one, he didn't want to attend alone. So he picked Haley up at her house, entering into a relationship that has led him to this point.

Good for him. I recall being in attendence when he walked out to touch the banner before the UConn game. Luckily, I didn't need to pay extra for the tears in my eyes.

I was at the Big House when Brock walked out and touched the banner. Just amazing! So happy for Brock.

Thanks much for posting. I really appreciate reading this. With the kickstarter campaign for the magazine, I opted for the 1% Mealer T-shirt. It is truly an inspiring story.

You know, October has been an awful month for my allergies. I see stories like this one and I have to take more antihistamines as well as drops for my eyes.

Seriously though, this is another awesome chapter in this great story. Brock has perservered through so much, and to see him take this step should make every Wolverine smile. I wish him nothing but the best.

Very cute couple and I almost never use that word.

Good for you Brock and Haley. May it be a very happy and special day and one of the many you should experience throughout your lives together.

Also Beat State.

One of my favorite athletes ever. "Cool story bro" time: just drove past a place on Kentwood yesterday and saw the Barwis Methods sign. I didn't know he had a place out this far...
