Dawson has the three best SEC schools (seems like he wants to go south) on his list and the best school in the Midwest that he has an offer for. Seems entirely reasonable to me. If he decides distance is a bigger deal than he thought it was then OSU is a nice safety school.

This is a really embarrassing thread for the Michigan fanbase. The kid has had a ton go on in his life, more than probably most on this board had happen to them at 17. I thought we were leaders and best? I thought we were classier than State fans? There are hundreds of kids that get recruited each year around the nation, showing a little class used to be the difference. Not now I guess. I'm 34, so not Herm, just confused why you all are being dumbasses all of a sudden.

I never said it is legally binding.  Its called a committment for a reason.  You are giving your WORD to that school and coaching staff.  If you wish to use extreme legalism as if it's the only standard which we live by to excuse this kind of arrogant dishonesty, well, all the power to you.

That's bullshit! If you are a highly sought after doctor graduating from UM and Beaumont says they will off you X money and you say yes, then UM offers you with more upside, and you say sorry Beaumont then what? Doesn't matter even if it's reverse. You have a choice what you want to do and it doesn't matter what the fuck the nurses think. And money is just relative. Not saying SEC offered money.

Oops.  Sorry meant to hit underrated.

I think Dawson's decomit has brought out the worst of our fanbase.  Would have he been an awesome addition?  Yes.  Would it have been better if he never committed so we could have brought in Pocic or McGovern?  Sure.

Am I going to cry over the loss of 1 OL recruit given the talent we brought in for the 2012 and 2013 classes? Absolutely not.

Wish him well.  He's had an absolutely sh*tty year, especially for a 17 year old.

Whatever.

Let's worry about guys that we can still offer. Michigan has parted ways with D, so I'm indifferent on the situation. Hope Cass Tech wins another state title.

It's as simple as that. A trip to Florida for someone who hasn't been anywhere else is probably exciting for the kid. No hard feelings. Hope he does well wherever he goes. I just can't get too bent out of shape anymore about what a 17 year old kid does.   Sometimes I expect young people to recognize the delta between a UM degree and a UF degree, but hey, some can't recognize it or don't think it's important.

I went to a high school football game last Friday.  Sat to watch the game with my kids. We were right next to a bunch of 17-18 year old teeny boppers. They just can't sit still. They kept moving around, going to concessions, coming back, throwing stuff, yelling for their friends, moving around.

I enjoyed the game anyway and so did my kids. Look, it's just teenagers mmkay.

And one that lost his father, one that was an emotional anchor as I understand it. So naturally he's all over the place. Florida may sound all good and exotic, but it a long wat until signing day. And what if the prodigal son wants to come home? That will be an interesting test for Hoke.

We have seen walk-ons become Captains, and we have seen 5 stars become human. I'm not going to pay a lot of attention until I see them under a Winged Helmet.

I'm not going to do the "he's 17" defense, but I can't help but wonder who has his ear with his dad out of the picture.
