Ugly Game of the Week?????

Submitted by weasel3216 on

Stubob used to write an Ugly Game of the Week diary, typically would be a handful of ugly games for the upcoming week plus a recap of the previous week's results.  This always was a good laugh.

Stubob, COME BACK!!!!!!!  I need sometging to read at work on Fridays before the preview is released.

blowouts. 1. Alabama vs Mizzou. There will be no upset in this game. I've got Bama winning with a spread line of 27 or even 30. 2. Florida vs Vandy. Florida blows out the Commodores by a spread of 25 3. Michigan vs Illinois. Next to Ohio St vs Indiana this will be a one sided game from start to finish. I've got Michigan winning by a spread of 28 points in this game. My final prediction is UM 45 Illinois 17.

Ugly games of the week:

The physically ugly: Kansas St at IU. Purple and silver do not blend well with red and gold. But any time you can get the "Power Kat" logo on national TV it's a win.

The lob-sided ugly: BC at FSU. BC was featured in TWIS and travelling to face a pissed-off FSU team. BC < 0-4 Army < Stony Brook. Could get ugly in Talahassee.

Why not just go out for a beer because this Footballin' thing is foreign to us ugly: UAB (1-4) at Houston (2-3), Kentucky (1-5) at JLS Arkansas (2-4), and Cal (2-4) at Wazzou (2-4). I'm leaning towards the SEC tilt particularly for the JLS sad train to downerstown. But those bunch of corpses in Pullman paint a pretty bleak picture as well.

There's a number of reasons I quit doing the UGotW.

1. I started to feel bad about picking on EMU every week.

2. I have a whole lot less time to preview/review the games, between a new job and a little future Wolverine

3. The amount of content really picked up, so I felt like there wasn't a big need for one more diary.

4. I wanted to do the Pick Six review, but never heard back from the guy who took all the votes.

5. I can't think of #5.

If there's really a subculture of people who read it (besides me, you and Seth), I will think about bringing it back.

I liked it.  I would say it was definitely one of the diary posts I looked forward to reading each week cause it was funny, insightful and highlighted those New Mexico State vs UTEP type clashes that were sure to draw about 10,000 people and feature God-Awful football.

Put me down as wanting you to restart it if you have time.

Iowa @ MSU

Neither team has a strong offense.  Both teams have strong defenses with MSU's being better than Iowa's.

I predict a 13-3 win for sparty
