With tears in my eyes, and a smile on my face; George, you made that the best Michigan game ever to listen to.

God bless you and your insights to college football. I'm so glad you were once a QB so you had credibility with your thoughts.

Can't wait to listen again next week.

-His complete and utter shock and amazement that Gibbons's first FG hit the crossbar, as if this is something that has never happened before.

-His comment that the 49ers's use of Kaepernick on the option "made the Jets look stupid since they have Tebow."

-The fact that he claimed that he himself used to play QB, despite the fact that he is evidently completely unfamiliar with the game of football.

Yeah it was awkward at times, yes it was sort of odd (to be honest, it's really really to broadcast by yourself). But I genuinely enjoyed listening to his soliloquy on how the Boilermakers came to be. I liked his turn of phrase and his brutal honesty (don't see that from American TV, which has economic incentive to prop up whatever teams they're covering). I will listen to him next time he's on EuroSport.

I had to turn the volume down. The guy was misnaming everyone. I think the fact he didn't say his own name until the end was because he knew he'd screw that up too!

And someone needs to tell him he doesn't need to end every sentence with "there."

Other than that, not a bad job annoucing the game all the way from Germany even though he did miss the fact Denard had one long run with only one shoe on.

Over those early years Purdue's football team were called 'grangers', 'pumpkin-shuckers', 'railsplitters', 'cornfield sailors', 'blacksmiths' and 'foundry hands', but ultimately it was 'Boilermakers' that finally stuck.

I've lived in Europe and I cherished any Michigan coverage on television. If there was anything that made me homesick it was Michigan football. George Walden and Eurosport brought back nostalgia and truly made my day.

Got his nickname mixed up. Walden was pure brills.

Also, "Thomas Rawls" caught that post near the endzone that Touissant punched in a couple plays later. Funchess is apparently a backup running back.

At first I was annoyed by his commentary, but It did become entertaining listening to him. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to do both color commentary and play- by- play while watching a video feed and having no idea what replays or shots are going to be shown between plays and during time outs..

Dear god I'm so happy other people were able to witness that. Poor guy all alone and with no control over the feed. It was like boom goes the dynamite after several years of polish.

Marve warming up on sidelines... "He's got a rocket (arm) there."

Speaking glowingly of Marve and his surgically repaired knee/brace shortly after entering the game... Purdue drove towards the endzone, there was a play where someone almost sacked him and he avoided it and scrambled for 5 yards.  "He's a sitting duck out there with that leg/brace.  He's doing it with sheer guts and determination"

A short time later Jake Ryan comes free up the middle and plants Marve...  "You know that had to really hurt him.  He got him right in the torso."

"Denard has 2 scampers for over 20 yeards already..."

The Purdue kicker making his 3rd of 3 FGs... "He's really making a name for himself."

Most classic comments in a long time.

This commentary reminded me of the sixties.  It was obvious that he was being "left on an island," and I thought he did a good job trying to make sense of the bizarre highlight packages that kept showing over and over.

It  was like whoever was in charge of sending the feed to Europe was saying, "Let's fuck with that poor SOB over there."
