Michigan (Football) at Syracuse 1999 Highlights
Finally got highlights of this game. I've been looking for it for years. Michigan made the return trip to syracuse for the home and home series. Michigan gets revenge in this game for what happened the year prior when Donovan McNabb came in and led the Orangemen 38-28.
For the full game, check out jcbakkar's channel. He also has some other cool videos like old Michigan Replay shows, Michigan basketball full games and more.

that game then, I see no need to watch it again.
Nice link anyway. ;)

What about it did you hate, out of curiosity?
September 30th, 2012 at 7:18 PM ^
Watching games in that Dome is depressing.
September 30th, 2012 at 7:31 PM ^
i was at this game and don't really remember anything except the gloomy, depressing environment. ugh.

Dome football sucks everywhere, at every level, at any time.
October 1st, 2012 at 1:08 PM ^
....some of the funnest games I've ever been to were when Barry Sanders was firing up a raucous crowd at the Silverdome. Did not suck at all.
October 1st, 2012 at 2:38 PM ^
That's completely untrue.
I would love to play at Ford Field...in a state championship game.
October 1st, 2012 at 8:05 PM ^
I don't think they suck generally, but college football was not meant to be played in a dome.

painful game to watch. Syracuse ended up 7-5 and managed to give Rutgers its only win of the season. Syr got monkey stomped by VTU 62-0 and Miami 45-13 , finished the year going 1-4 before their bowl win over Kentucky.
I think we severly underperformed in this particular game.

section 118 on the 10 yard line of the michigan sideline. not a really good game to watch. brady barely played. henson did ok. the game ended on a 4th down defensive stop deep in our territory.

I remember watching and dreaming of all the Henson to Terrell connections we would see in the years to come.... didn't quite work out how i had dreamed.

a crazy scramble and deep completion from Henson in this game but didn't see it in the video.

Apparently our colors are Maize and Gold (8:25)
October 1st, 2012 at 10:53 AM ^
And he actually "corrected" himself after saying the correct colors - "the Maize and Blue, excuse me, Maize and Gold..."

Thanks for the highlight.
BTW, why is the screen square?

Your editing has improved greatly and is now excellent. I still suggest that you skip the extra points - except when they are missed or pivotal. Thanks, and keep up the good work.

My daughter was born that day @ 12:38 am Saturday morn. She cried all day and we were a wreck because of no sleep for the last couple of days. The nurses finally had to take her out of the room so my wife could sleep. Me watching the football game and yelling at the tv didnt help for my wife's sleep either.

Finally got highlights of this game. I've been looking for it for years.WHY? You obviously have some disease that makes you want to highlight the 2 or 3 games in the last 30 years that WH hasn't already done. Get that checked out.

Is it so wrong that I want to put up games so there are complete seasons on youtube?
Not stopping.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:16 AM ^
Yeah, that still pisses me off.
And it's still completely lost on me why Syracuse students of all students would want to steal the banner out of Crisler in the first place. Before that game, we hadn't played each other on the football field since 1918. So there was no rivalry, history or hard feelings that I knew of. MSU students, I could understand. OSU I could understand even more since their team tried to rip the banner to threads in 73. But Syracuse? Seriously?
But whatever. Watching Syracuse stink up college football this past decade has felt like pretty good vindication. I'd gladly hold up a sign to those guys with the number "80" on it, which is the number of losses SU has since 2002.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:52 AM ^
But the story is 100% pure Columbian awesome. So was the curb stomping that SU put on Michigan in the stadium re-dedication game.
And that stinking up college football came at the hands of the same man that cratered the Michigan defense.
October 1st, 2012 at 11:14 AM ^
That idiotic safety syracuse took in this game was pretty awesome.
October 1st, 2012 at 11:59 AM ^
So was our receiver being tackled in the endzone a la Desmond Howard against MSU which cost us the game...
October 1st, 2012 at 4:17 PM ^
Come on, I'm a Michigan fan (grad school), if there's any picture a Michigan fan shouldn't post about pass interference in the endzone it's this one.
October 1st, 2012 at 12:00 PM ^
Losses are losses. Greg Robinson sucked but that doesn't mean the losses with him go away, unfortunately.
Congrats on the curb stomping during your 8-4 season. Other than one season, the program's been a joke in the 14 years since. And Syracuse students stealing another 100 banners won't change that. Syracuse can kiss my ass.
In case you couldn't tell, I don't like people messing with the banner or any other sacred things tied to Michigan football.
October 1st, 2012 at 12:38 PM ^
In case you couldn't tell, I don't like people messing with the banner or any other sacred things tied to Michigan football. You're upset? Doesn't show. You can take heart in that the closest Syracuse has ever gotten to getting under our skin is a juvenile prank that on the Shenanigan Scale ranks somewhere just above Greg Brady stealing that HS mascot goat.
October 1st, 2012 at 4:16 PM ^
Must have forgotten about this one...
October 2nd, 2012 at 3:23 PM ^
You guys had a good day and you were able to parlay that performance into a 8-4 record and and ranked 25th in the AP. Meanwhile, we went on to finish 10-3 and 12th in the AP. So, yeah, your attempts at trollng don't really bother me all that much. Good talk.
October 1st, 2012 at 10:30 AM ^
say that I forgot that game took place. Seriously, I can tell you pretty much the final score of every Michigan game since 1995 and literally drew a complete blank when I looked at the heading "Michigan v. Syracuse 1999" on the Board. It must have been very forgettable.
October 1st, 2012 at 12:23 PM ^
What I remember most about this game is being pissed that we didn't crush these chumps. That and how bad the camera man was at following the ball. That guy must have had a few stiff drinks before kickoff.
October 1st, 2012 at 12:30 PM ^
I saw that game live and while watching football in the Carrier Dome is a mediocre experience, it did have the redeeming quality of serving beer, for which reason I don't recall a good portion of that game.
I do remember that this was the one game where Drew Henson outperformed Tom Brady during the ill-conceived QB platoon that Lloyd used in the first half of the 1999 season.
October 1st, 2012 at 1:09 PM ^
One of Lloyd's numerous ugly, ugly wins.
October 1st, 2012 at 1:46 PM ^
I haven't watched the highlights but if the leveling of the Syracuse TE by the 180-lb Todd Howard is not featured, it's a crime. Howard had a middling career but he was good for the occasional astonishing hit. I also recall him sending a Purdue running back cartwheeling.
I remember Lloyd's teams habitually losing their first road games of the year, but the numbers really don't back this up. It happened five straight times (2001-2005 by 5, 2, 4, 8, and 3 points respectively) but overall he was 7-6 in such games.

on one of the very worst days of the very worst year of my life. Hadn't thought about it much since then...calling Dr. Walker...Dr. John Walker, please pick up a white courtesy phone

This is back when the Big East had a TV deal with CBS and was actually a decent football conference. My, how times have changed.
