We actually have two first place votes, too. Only school outside of BC and Minnesota to receive first place votes.

This year. All depends on how our freshman (Rutledge) is in net and how well PDG, Treais, and Guptill hold down scoring line responsibility. Our defense looks fine with Troubadour and Merrill and I'm very excited to see Boo Nieves hit the ice. Super stoked for hockey season. The few, the proud, the college hockey fans

Screw the USA Today poll, the USCHO one is the one that matters. It factors into the PWR.

But still, Michigan is going to dominate this season. My expectations are a CCHA Championship, CCHA Playoff Championship and a trip to the Frozen Four in Pittsburgh.

I noticed on Michigan's 2012-2013 hockey schedule Ohio St isn't coming to Yost this year? It showed the only series against them this season is in the Schott? Is that true? I thought they came to Yost for a home series every year?

Nice "Blue Ice" reference.

I'm worried that's a bit too high like the previous commenter said.  A lot of unknowns in net and offensive production this year, but as usual, we have uber-talented freshmen coming in in Nieves, Selman, and Trouba.

I'm also pumped because I'll be getting a press pass and helping Jason Paul with the live blog at MHNet!

I think Michigan is overrated, but then I look at the other teams being ranked and how their teams stack up and I can't argue with a top 5 ranking.
