Lions v. Titans Open Thread

Good game to watch to get your mind off of things. Most of us are rooting for the Lions, but it's nice to see Mike Martin already make a stand at the line of scrimmage. Mikel Lesure looks solid so far. Lions having trouble in the passing game and can't get anything in the endzone. It's a good thing they have Hanson, who has made 3 FG's and is now punting for the team.

The Titans had a succesful lateral on a punt return that went for a TD, and a 60 yard TD pass from Jake Locker. Lions don't look terrible, but they certainly don't look like a playoff team.

The Lions are just a bad football team.  No secondary,  ZERO pressure on the QB all game long, and the receivers/RBs/TEs can't catch dick except for Johnson.

but reading the recap on ESPN I couldn't figure out why in fucking hell the Lions would be going for it on 4th down in OT instead of just kicking the FG to tie it. That would have been reminiscent of Morninghweg taking the wind instead of the ball in OT, but the fact that it was instead a colossal communications fuckup makes it that much better. Yep, same old incompetent Lions.

The way the game had gone I think going for it on 4th was the absolute right call. The defense couldnt stop a Prius in neutral, the pass rush was non existant and the secondary is as bad as we all thought it would be. A FG there would have just delayed the inevitable doom of the Titans marching down the field for the game winning kick. I said it above but if they can't get the right play call or get a foot on 4th down then they didn't deserve to win, and low and behold, they didn't deserve to win.
