Happy 22, 16! Open Thread
You snooze you lose. I will now bask in the warm glow of being the Creator of the Open Thread, and cordially accept all the benefits that come with said position.
B1G Games:
UAB at (16) Ohio State
CMU at Iowa
UTEP at Wisconsin
Games of Interest:
Virginia at (17) TCU
Maryland at (8) WVU
Not the biggest smorgasbord of early games, but I'd do anything for a few primers until 8pm...
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:18 AM ^
...commence basking. Why not go ahead and start the one for next week, too? Super bowl?
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:33 AM ^
Your vitriol is spilling over this week, ND Sux. As you request:
Super Bowl XLXI -
February 5, 2017
Los Angeles Browns at New England Patriots
Key storylines:
Brady attempting to get his 8th Super Bowl ring.
Browns seemingly have advantage due to new 'two hand touch' player safety rule which was implemented at the beginning of the season.
. Commence .
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:55 AM ^
LA Browns made me giggle.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:07 AM ^
In the future the Superbowl is played in the stadium of one of the two teams? lol "at New England"
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:12 AM ^
By that time, Zoltan has purchased the franchise and moved them to the moon. That was a typo. It's supposed to be New New England Patriots. Also, due to the lower gravity, Zoltan is no longer eligible to punt for any NFL team, as they lose too many footballs.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:39 AM ^
Did the Browns move to the NFC?
(I want more of this elaborate story)
September 22nd, 2012 at 11:00 AM ^
In his old age, Jerry Jones channeled his inner Al "Plastic Pants" Davis and demanded to be in the Amurican Footbaw Conference, since he still bought into the fact that they were America's Team.
Cleveland Browns owner, (and former minority owner of the Steelers) Jimmy Haslam, took this as an opportunity to troll the Browns fans, and moved the team to LA. His rationale was "Who in their right mind would stay in Cleveland?"
That's pretty much it.
September 22nd, 2012 at 1:27 PM ^
I will chain myself to their stadium and go on a hunger strike until the deal is cancelled or I die from exposure.
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:22 AM ^
A sign supposedly seen in the GameDay crowd already forming in Tallahassee: "Not Sure If Serious Or Just Clemson Football". Nice. I hope to see this one live later, if they show it.
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:28 AM ^
I saw that sign when SportsCenter had Kirk on for a few questions. They used the Fry from Futurama meme. Pretty funny.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:40 AM ^
You mean this?
So great.
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:24 AM ^
You've earned many valuable Soviet era bank notes.
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:24 AM ^
Then I would have a purpose for waking up early
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:29 AM ^
...to the west coast.
To the OP: I graciously allowed you to start the early games open thread. No need to send a thank-you card; your glowing admiration is enough for me
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:29 AM ^
It does, if you live on west coast. I'd strongly consider moving.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:58 AM ^
Watch ALL the football!!
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:39 AM ^
This thread is too early and will be irrelevant in 2/1/2 hours...but Go Blue!!
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:43 AM ^
This thread will never be irrelevant, so long as everyone involved is honest with themselves and open with their true feelings on this cold Saturday morning. It feels, to me at least, that you are holding back. This is a place of healing. Do not be afraid to share.

David Pollack makes me want to hurt someone.
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:55 AM ^
I turned the tv off after he said we don't know anything about Alabama's defense yet because they haven't played anybody. He then said he can't wait to see them go up against Tennessee's offense. He may have said a few more idiotic things but I wasn't sticking around to hear it.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:13 AM ^
David Pollack also said he didn't think UM would make a bowl last year. Even Herbstriet laughed at him.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:16 AM ^
Pretty sure florida's defense shut Tennessee down in the second half of their game last week. He couldn't learn anything from that?
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:19 AM ^
I have never heard him say anything other than negative things about Michigan, which seems a bit odd since he's a Georgia guy.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:40 AM ^
He said denard can't throw on the espnu show. But he was just on the espn show and said the thing that made tebow special was he big physical guy who could throw. Have u seen any football David? Denard can't throw but tebow can.
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:44 AM ^
Early game thread before gameday thread?
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:47 AM ^
Surely you are mistaken. I know not what you mean.
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:52 AM ^
Thought this was clever:
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:15 AM ^
Not at the table, Clemson
September 22nd, 2012 at 9:59 AM ^
and loves to watch ND. She hates them as I do, but she's hoping to bear witness to the inevitable head explosion.
Lady ND Sux = awesomeness
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:34 AM ^
tell her to swing by my place and I will give her an inevitable head explosion.
booyah!
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:57 AM ^
wow that's clever
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:13 AM ^
Hey OP, why don't you start a Happy Birthday Denard thread?
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:19 AM ^
Umm... I already did. That's the name of this thread.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:35 AM ^
He's only little older than me. Puts things in perspective.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:48 AM ^
I'll be 28 for the Nebraska game. You shut your dirty mouth, you haven't even been able to drink at bars for a full year. Thanks for making me add Metamucil to my wife's shopping list.
September 22nd, 2012 at 11:51 AM ^
You are definately on a roll this morning.
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:48 AM ^
tears for Fisher. WOW that's tough!
September 22nd, 2012 at 10:51 AM ^
I find it a little ridiculous that Florida State hasn't sold out a game since they played Oklahoma last year.
September 22nd, 2012 at 11:04 AM ^
Happy Birthday Denard!
September 22nd, 2012 at 11:05 AM ^

September 22nd, 2012 at 11:24 AM ^
It's Denard's birthday and nobody has posted this yet?
September 22nd, 2012 at 11:34 AM ^
"The only good player"
Fuck you Corso
September 22nd, 2012 at 11:35 AM ^
get put into a home sometime soon? I know this is something idiots often say, but kids from California, Texas and the south are not faster.
Using this logic, we should only recruit tall, skinny Jamacian nationals. Then we could totally run on everyone!
September 22nd, 2012 at 11:38 AM ^
I don't know why I put myself through the pain of watching game day.
September 22nd, 2012 at 11:35 AM ^
Brian Kelly hoping for Denard to get hurt pregame. Stay classy BK.
September 22nd, 2012 at 11:37 AM ^
No mention of Funchess. I don't think these espn guys do any research. F EM!!!!
