that those would be it for the regular season.

I guess it doesn't really matter which ones they wear. Those golden dome helmets are going to be very annoying either way.
September 19th, 2012 at 4:43 PM ^
I don't understand why they did that to their helmets. I know their explanation is "it's actually closer to the golden dome color", but the new ones look awful; I actually liked their old ones.
September 19th, 2012 at 5:56 PM ^
the new notre dame helmets are awful.
September 19th, 2012 at 6:52 PM ^
They'd still be gawdy and ridiculous, but if they could somehow find a way to make the finish slightly more tolerant of hits, I could almost understand the appeal. Too bad that by the 2nd quarter they look like hot, scratched up garbage.
September 19th, 2012 at 4:34 PM ^
Michigan will be wearing away uniforms this weekend. That is guaranteed.
September 19th, 2012 at 4:36 PM ^
For the remainder of the season, they need to just wear their traditional uniforms.
A little off topic: I wish M and Ohio would both wear their home uniforms when they face each other next year. I saw BYU and Utah both wearing their home uniforms last week and 1) I forgot about that rule change and 2) I wish I could see that more often. It would be great for M and Ohio to do it since their colors are so different.
September 19th, 2012 at 4:50 PM ^
For the remainder of the season, they need to just wear their traditional uniforms.Brandon has said that's what we're doing.
September 19th, 2012 at 9:06 PM ^
The only problem with that is there is no "traditional" away uniform.
September 19th, 2012 at 9:41 PM ^
Well, I can tell you it has a white jersey and yellow pants.

I'm with you there. There's a strong tradition of UM and OSU wearing road jerseys in the opposite stadium, but going color on color would be great. Note USC and UCLA have been playing with this, too (they have a tradition of doing that against each other) and it looks great.
September 19th, 2012 at 7:27 PM ^
But that's a little different. USC and UCLA are located in the same city and once shared the Coliseum, so both teams really were at home when they played back then.
Michigan and OSU don't share a geographical area like that. I'd keep the current practice as it is.
September 19th, 2012 at 6:12 PM ^
In total agreement, but the NCAA has some stupid rule about opposing teams not being able to wear home jerseys at an opposing stadium. USC and UCLA make it happen, though, so I can't see why other schools couldn't as well.
September 19th, 2012 at 6:38 PM ^
And teams have been able to wear home unis on the road at Georgia Tech and LSU for a long time now.
September 19th, 2012 at 7:44 PM ^
I think the history behind USC-UCLA both wearing home uniforms is cool (because they both played their home games in the LA Coliseum for many years), but they have the history behind it. IMO, the Color-vs-white looks just fine and should continue to be the matchup. I found it disrespecful as hell when tOSU wore their pro combat unis in 2009 and 2010.
September 19th, 2012 at 8:14 PM ^
Still not a huge fan of color v color, but it looks okay
September 19th, 2012 at 8:47 PM ^
That looks weird. Not a fan.
September 19th, 2012 at 11:05 PM ^
Color on color looks gorgeous. But, there is something cool about OSU in white in Ann Arbor and UM in white in Columbus. The history is that, as opposed to the USC/UCLA hisory of color on color always.
September 20th, 2012 at 8:06 AM ^
Totally agree. FWIW I think the Buckeye's away jersey's are the coolest road uni's (after ours of course) and I was pissed when they started screwing around with them in the games against us.
September 19th, 2012 at 4:43 PM ^
Even if we wear our normal away uniforms, someone will still find something really trivial to complain about.
September 19th, 2012 at 4:48 PM ^
The absurd Oregon-like shineyness of the ND helmets. I will complain about that.
September 19th, 2012 at 4:50 PM ^
A victory would offset any uni talks!
September 19th, 2012 at 4:59 PM ^
We won last week, but someone still made a useless thread about the Legends patch.
September 19th, 2012 at 6:23 PM ^
Isn't that part of what this forum is for, intensely scrutinizing everything Michigan? If you can't do it here, where else can you do it?
September 19th, 2012 at 6:27 PM ^
Fair, but beating ND is a lot cooler than beating UMass. No one exactly felt like "we beat UMass, everything else is gravy!"
September 19th, 2012 at 4:49 PM ^
Just hoping for no surprises. But hey, if the players like it, i'll go wit it..
September 19th, 2012 at 4:51 PM ^
winning uniforms Saturday.
September 19th, 2012 at 5:14 PM ^
As long as they don't mess with the best helmet in football I can live with the occasional uniform mix-up.
September 19th, 2012 at 5:16 PM ^
They will be wearing the TechFit road uniforms from last year that were worn against northwestern, but the cuts of the jerseys have been fixed. Michigan has been wearing TechFits the past two weeks if you haven't noticed. A very notable difference in the jerseys is the end of the "elephant tusk" piping on the sides-
September 19th, 2012 at 5:34 PM ^
I hated that piping (not that this was an original thought).

Wow, I actually don't have any complaints about these.
It's about time Adidas finally got something right.

I'm guessing 30 to 40%
September 19th, 2012 at 6:01 PM ^
i dunno what to make of this. I was on the Riddell website the other day and i saw that they sold collegiate gear. This was the michigan helmet they were selling. Looks like a blue matte finish. kinda cool.

matte blue helmet yes, that helmet above is nice. leave the wings alone tho.

wear whatever the hell he wants. Maybe Michigan's home jerseys. To hell with Notre Dame.
September 19th, 2012 at 10:54 PM ^
"I don't care what they do with the away uniforms, just don't mess with our helmets."
Hey, here's what our helmets look with a matte finish - - -
"Kick ass! Flat blue looks awesome."
"I love it."
"Matte helmets look good."
September 19th, 2012 at 11:19 PM ^
Anything other than our helmets as they are needs to die in a fire that has the intensity of 10,000 super novas.
September 20th, 2012 at 7:48 AM ^
The reason why there had to be color vs white jerseys was to satisfy black and white TV, if both teams wore home colors you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
No one asked but there you go...NOW GET OFF MY LAWN, your messing with my reception on my rabbit ears.
September 20th, 2012 at 8:23 AM ^
...some source material to confirm that? Sounds logical...but could also be a myth since college football (and most of the other major sports) predate television.
I wouldn't be surprised if road jerseys (and their tendency towards white) predated television since even people in attendence at games might have trouble following the action if two teams had even remotely similar colors.
