When you look at playing an option team from the offensive side of the ball, is it easier to get your team focused because they like to shorten the game in terms of possessions?
...is the last one answered which is then followed up by "Thanks coach". Maybe Heiko asked it to him after?

Wow is it just me or was gorgeous Borges anxious during that interview? I love Dave Brandon because he will not tolerate mediocrity. There is no excuse for Michigan not to be a top 10 program nationally. Don't get me wrong I believe they're heading in the right direction. However, Michigan under Dave Brandon is willing to invest what ever it takes financially to give Michigan football a winning chance against the SEC. They wouldn't think twice about paying out of his huge contract if he isn't getting the job done. Like I said before I think Michigan is on the right track, and that includes Borges. That interview looks like he's feeling the pressure.

If there is pressure on him right now he should not have been hired. IMO, when you get a new head coaching gig, you have two options when you go to hire your OC. You hire a guy that knows how to work with the peronnel you currently have and keep getting those type of kids, or you hire the guy you think is best regardless of system. Hoke clearly did the latter. Now, in a case like Michigan's, it's slightly different because you have the best skilled option QB in the nation. There has certainly been apaptations made even though they have not been as successful as we would like. My main point is that in hiring Borges, Hoke knew that we probably would not use Denard to his full running/spread option potential but the hope was he could improve to the point where we could still be successful offensively. We have Morris coming in and he will be much better suited for what Borges really knows how to do, or at least we hope. No one should be putting Borges under pressure and he shouldn't feel it. IMO, he was put in a difficult position as well. Think about it. You get the most dynamic player in the game but you don't have the history to know exactly how to use him. That's kind of tough. FWIW, I think a Rodriguez coached offense scores 30 the other night. The problem lies in the fact that they would have given up roughly 80. I'll take this staff.

You realize that a QB needs to have his Oline stop the pressure from rushing in... an Oline that can open gaps for a RB, who in turn takes pressure off the QB... A WR that understands how to run his routes in order to catch the ball.... we also need a defense that can perform their responsibilities as well....

Neither Denard, Morris, or Joe Montana could get the job done if the rest of the team isnt performing... Its year 2 of a new system and your first game of the season is against the defending national champions, who happen to blow man children out of their ass like nothing...

Btw, the comment "You get the most dynamic player in the game but you don't have the history to know exactly how to use him." is ludacris... go ahead and let our star QB run into a brick wall 4 or 5 times and lets find out what happens then.... this is another reason why I think Rich Rod would've failed... you cant let a 5'11 190lbs QB run into a 6'6 300 manchild without it effecting his performance during that game and most likely the remainder of the season... we pay our coaches some pretty good money and im pretty sure they know how to manage our players and utilize their skill set the best way possible... like borges said, it depends on the game and situation...

It was good to hear from Fitz.....sounds like our team captains are leading, Fitz is repentant, and Coach Hoke has the respect of everyone in the locker room.  It is also great to hear that the basketball coaches take an interest in the football players too.

It will be good for Fitz to put this behind himself on the field on Saturday.

It's good to see that Fitz is remorseful of his actions. I'm hoping he puts this behind him and has another 1,000+ yard season. Can't wait to see him play Saturday.

I was impressed with Fitz too...he didn't at all sound like he was going through the motions and saying what was expected.  He stood up like a man and answered some difficult questions without flinching.
