VIDEO: Air Force - Idaho State Highlights

Submitted by Thorin on

In 1991, one week after Desmond made The Catch against ND, Florida State came to the Big House and hung 50 on Michigan. It was a slap in the face, but Desmond went on to win the Heisman and Michigan won a Big 10 Championship. The team's stated goals are still achievable. On to the next one.

are only stated goal is to win the Big Ten well I think that your goal sould be to be the best team in the country. I guess the entire big ten has the samee goal. Maybe that is why the conference has been average the last 10 years

To best nationally. I view it as a step progression. Once we have won the BiG a couple straight times, then shift our focus. But, then again, if you are constantly dominating the BiG, then you will find yourself in national contention, ala Ohio the past decade.

AF has the whole option offense, which is maybe a little worrisome. I think our talent is enough for this game. If Idaho State can score a couple times on them, then we can go batshit.

The Defense will need to stay fundamentally sound and play their gaps.  I am not worried about the offense, they will be fine.

That is the question. If he wants to prove Denard is a great passer it will be a very long year. It doesn't matter who we are playing.

we'll struggle, hope he plays.  And yes, I realize he's supposed to.

Defensively I think we'll be ok for this one, but I imagine AF will slip a long play or two in there.

I think we need to start the game positively.  If Air Force gets an early TD I could see them running sideline to sideline and making us more nervous than we ought to be for a good portion of the game.

Their passing game looks really weak.

A few things jump out at me:

1. They are really not that big or physical at the point of attack.

2. Their backs don't seem to have great burst.

Regardless of what everyone else says about yesterdays game, I think that when blake went down, it took the spirit out of our defense. I also think that it forced coach Mattison to adjust his game plan.

It looks like everyone on their O' is quick and can block. It'll be a very different test than Alabama, but the Jimmy's and Joe's are on a whole different level this week.

Idaho St scored 3 TDs, so M should expect to put a lot on the board.

Frankly it'll be fun to watch - when's the last time we played a traditional option running team?
