Great idea scheduling a national powerhouse for primetime while your program is rebuilding!

he played like crap and what the hell is up with his preparation and playcalling.  Brandon was whoefully unprepared for a game he knew was coming for years.

How would you feel if we weren't rebuilding and rich rod was still here? Yes, we are rebuilding and the timing was right to have this game because we have a measuring stick of how far we have to go before we are competitive on a national level. Go Blue!

I don't know who scheduled this game - it may have been Martin - but look, if you want to be a national championship program, you're going to have to play top-notch competition eventually.  I find the idea that this is "bad for the brand" because we got blown out to be backwards.  Recruits want to play in big games.  Sure, this one didn't go the way we wanted, but hey, we're not afraid to give it a try.  No one's going to decommit because of this.

You whining bitches need to check yourselves for a pair. Michigan got beat by a team that will be playing for the NC and won it last year. You little cowards whining about injuries like they wouldn't have happened had we played a lesser team. STFU! You want to beat the best, you've got to play against the best. Step up to the plate, put the peg in the ground, whatever metaphor you choose.

The only reason why I didn't want to play Bama was because is didn't want to see a portion of our fanbase turn into whining bitches when we got our asses kicked. Getting thumped by better teams makes your team better. Sure, it stings, and it's not what we'd like to see. But act like a fucking man, not a bitch before you get slapped like one.

Agreed. It is time to step up, like a man, and play opponents that make us better. We are handicapped playing in the Big Ten. It is a good conference and I am proud of it, but, we need a serious, national, challenge outside of it. I'm proud that we played Alabama. Although it was ugly and exploited our weaknesses, we at least took a risk and played them. This is the first step in becoming the national power that we want to be.

Misogynist? Surely you jest CO Blue! First, bitch slap is merely an expression used for dramatic effect. Secondly, I only condone bitch slapping MEN who transform into whining bitches after to the best team in the nation. I'd never hit a woman, but I'd shake the shit out of her.

CO, stop being such an oversensitive PC ninny will you please. It's not very becoming of Michigan Man.

seriously?

i can't fathom pinning this loss on the athletic director.  the loss hurts and we looked bad.  i'll still take this game over emu, wmu, toledo, utah.

you don't get better playing cupcakes.  i'll gladly take the loss in exchange for playing one of the best pro teams in the country in a virtual away game.  i'll take my lumps.  i'll be better for it.

--

i once coached a youth hockey team.  in the first game of the season we got crushed by a much bigger, faster and more experienced team.  not even close.  we didn't know what hit us.  the last game of the season, they were still bigger and faster, but we lost a close game by a goal and we were in the game the whole way.

the kids remembered what it was like to get beat badly.  they grew from it and were better for it.  nobody whined or complained.  we went out and worked to be better every single day.  i couldn't have been more proud of my kids after that last game.

I LOVE the fact that Brandon had the balls to schedule this game.   This is Michigan, and Michigan fears no team and real Michigan fans take this loss with their chin up and looking ahead.   I think as much as anything, this was a barometer to see just how far they have to go before they are close to being a top program again.   Nothing wrong with that.    Last season was a charmed season with a lot of key games at home and very few major injuries.   I think this team will be a better team and not win 11 games.    Sorry they got beaten so badly, but for cying out loud, at least it was the defending national champion doing this and not MIssissippi fucking State.

You can't blame Dave Brandon for this. To be the best you have to play the best. Alabama is a great team and this game will pay off down the road when playing other Big Ten schools (as long as the injuries arent that serious.) Michigan could have played the best game of their lives and probably would have still lost. Alabama is just the better team at this point. The most important thing is that they learn from this and bounce back. We will be fine and improve. If we get another shot at Bama the results will be very different. Go Blue!

Ummm denard will be limited next week. If not weeks cuz of the actual hard hitting fb being played. Are wr's are miserably bad against press. We have no fortitude nor strength. We got pancaked left and right, even the wr and punt gunners were getting spanked left and right. Lewan is out for the year with an acl tear, and our LB's are horrible against anything power a gap or outside zone. Check, we got this... Let the bubble burst y'all! The honey money is over.

27 years a fan, 8 years as an alum, and my head and mouth is fully planted in a dark cave with stitches in my lips. Y'all should do the same until we can get athletes on the field that can even compete with the sec; hell even MSU and Nebraska, let alone Ohio. Did we watch this weekend?!?! Fuck me, we are in for years of this shit!

Seriously, rationally... We need five years to get to a point where Bama is. Do we all realize that?!? I for one love the video game offense but, for this year, we cannot win in pro sets even 20% of the time. Borges has got to get off it and stay in spread sets and hit underneath routes and middle crossing and or settle into zones with combo routes. Chuck and pray offense, we are fucked in a rr way circa 2008. Jsaying...

No one knows the extent of Lewans injury. Maybe they should hire you as offensive coordinator, seems like you have it all figured out. There's 2 ways you can go after getting the shit kicked out of you, you can either feel sorry for yourself and fold for the rest of the season or you can put it in your rear view mirror, learn from it and look onto next week. You learn more from getting beat than you do by blowing a team out by 50.  Denard took one hard hit (and he delivered it) he has a full week to recover. You as a fan can give up and fold, but looking at the coaches and leaders of the team they will recover and bounce back.

Sorry he didn't schedule mighty savannah state, miami university or northern iowa.

Give me a break.

You think ANY team in this conference would even hang with alabama? wisconsin, the conference champion last year STRUGGLED WITH NORTHERN IOWA.

There was definitely some wow factor for me tonight:

1.  WOW, Alabama's good.

2. WOW, I wish our depth at running back was half of what Alabama's is.

3. WOW, does the person carrying the ball for Alabama even feel the first 2 or 3 UM defenders that hit him?

4. WOW, the defense totally teased tonight with that performance on Alabama's first offensive possession.

Play top teams like Alabama shows how we stack up against the top teams in the country, we will not play another team like Bama the rest of the season. Hope the team can grow and improve from this lose.

Good competition will only make them better.  Alabama is just better if we played them 10 times we would lose 10 times.  Even the backups were better.  Michigan needs to recruit for 5 years like we have for the last 2.

A lot of the same folks here who picked us to win or at least be competitive in that game are now  questioning why it was scheduled two years ago, like we should  have  known then we'd get rolled.

We're Michigan. Success and failure is on a big stage. Sparty got rolled worse by an Alabama team that didn't even win it's conference, and this was when Dantonio had his guys in place. But it happened at 11:00am on New Years' Day with 10 other games getting equal or more attention.

Hoke's first full recruiting class was freshman and we're playing a national title team. Our losses and victories always get magnified. You get stomped on occasion, don't care who you are.
