Great idea scheduling a national powerhouse for primetime while your program is rebuilding!

1. There was 0 expectation that we were actually going to win this game.

2. It was at the beginning of the season. By October/November, in the thick of the B1G race, it will be forgotten.

If we had won, the reward would have been huge. But there is little risk in losing this game. The right decision was made, even though we were thoroughly destroyed.

So do what then, sit at home and play no one? Move down to the MAC?

Honestly the focus of this game for the next week is going to be: Alabama is still Alabama. Not Michigan is terrible. And then in a few weeks when Michigan starts playing conference foes no one is going to think about it.

This is the problem with Michigan fans. Man up, and take an ass-whooping because you aren't good enough. We shouldn't be playing gimme-games. Western Michigan is a win, but doesn't prove anything. Playing good teams and shooting for the national championship is all that matters. Big Ten championships are nice but I'd rather be in the national championship game.

Did I imagine Kaleb Ringer and Chris Bryant's season ending injuries?

Injuries happen.  None of the injuries that occurred today were because we played Alabama rather than Western Michigan.

Did you know that Toussaint missed the Notre Dame game last year with an injury?  We didn't play Alabama the week before the Notre Dame game.  We played Western Michigan.  Injuries suck.  Shit happens.

So now we know how good we are. We got destroyed and now it is over. Good competition every year only benefits us because we can measure ourselves against the best. Do we want to be the best in the league, or the best in the nation? I'm sure we all want the latter. I applaud the Athletic Department for this schedule. Although I am disappointed, I have hope that the future will bring us completely back into the national picture. Go Blue!

Alabama is a great team. Give them credit. Still think UM has great things ahead. In the words of Rick Flair "if want to be the man, you got to beat the man.". We're not going to beat them if we don't schedule them.

If you play 4 cupcakes to start the season and run the table in the Big ten, you're in the title game most likely.  That's how the SEC does it.  I see no advantage to scheduling teams like this.

It's 2012. Do you really think that the Pac-12's leaders' goal is the Rose Bowl? Conference titles? Hell no! For Oregon and USC, it is NC game or bust. It is not 1980 anymore-we want NATIONAL championships, not just Big Ten championships. If this program wants to gain national respect, we will aim for the national goals. I truly do hope that we stop these "old" Rose Bowl goals and aim for the stuff that really matters.

tell me how great Rawls is I'm going to scream.

We lost our All-Big Ten caliber CB probably for the year, and our All-American LT candidate and high NFL draft pick is probably hurt and will at best be hobbled most of the year.  Not to mention DR took his Rich Rodriguez offense lumps and he clearly is no better of a passer than he ever has been.

Al  Borges is still as stubborn and stupid with play calling as ever, yes give me 2nd and long  Denard under center all year long plzzz morz.

I'd rather get blown out and learn something about the team than to play against a team that we're favored by 50+ and think we're unbeatable.  Everyone on that team right now is pissed, but they're better for it.  USC isn't better for railing Hawaii.  OKSt isn't better for pwning Savannah St.  We may have gotten our asses kicked but we are still undefeated in the B1G and know what we have to improve on.

And started to focus on the B10 which we won most years (Damn you Hayden Fry!).

This sucks but I think we learned a lot and faced a better D and (probably) better O than we will all year until a bowl game.  Hopefully the injuries are not significant --Why play your starter from a depth-weak position on special teams! -- and we are humbled and build from here.

I think the MSU. OSU, and UNL O lines are cake compared to what we faced tonight.

As long as we beat Sparty and Ohio and go 9-3 this year I am happy.

PS - Bubble Screens!!! + Why U no run Denard?
