Gary Danielson is worthless

Submitted by Marcus818 on

I was watching the college football season preview special tonight on CBS College, and Gary Danielson further proved that he is completely insane and nothing but a CBS/SEC company bitch! Both of which I already knew, but it seems he just gets worse every year. There were 3 things that he said that got me completely riled up and forced me to create this post:

1) On the topic of Notre Dame, he said he was looking forward to the Michigan/ND game and which ever team loses, their coach will be on the hot seat.

2) He put his 2 cents in on recruiting, and said that he feels schools should not be allowed to give scholarships to recruits until they are done with their senior seasons.

3) The grand finale. Everyone predicted the national championship game and his pick was....wait for it...wait for it....Florida vs LSU. Nothing more need be said.

Don't even listen to him. Guy doesn't know shit about football outside of being a NFL quarterback. If that actually meant a thing in broadcasting/analysis, then the world would be a lot different.

It doesn't and Gary Danielson's forehead remains a constant resting place for Tim Tebow's taint.

1. Yeah, maybe an exaggeration. If Michigan wins Jabba the Weiss SHOULD be on the hot seat. If ND wins there should be no reprecussions for RR as Jabba has actually had time to build a shitty program.

2. Not really that bad an idea. Think of all the bs that would clear up. Never gonna happen however.

3. I guess we'll see what happens. Not sure why you are so bent out of shape by one guy's championship game predictions, especially when it includes two teams that have actually won it all in the past few years.

1. Agree.

2. That would NOT be a good idea. Kids' seasons end, in many cases, at Thanksgiving. Kids who want to enroll early would have about a month to do their research, take official visits, and decide on a college.

3. This goes back to the debate from a couple years ago - you shouldn't be allowed to win the national championship if you don't even win your conference. In the case of UF vs. LSU, one of those teams obviously wouldn't have won its conference. And picking two teams from the same conference to play in the national championship game is a bit retarded, for obvious reasons. If those teams are 13-0 and 12-1, you can make a case only if every other team in the country has 2+ losses. But if any other team is undefeated or has one loss (which is extremely likely), you can't just pick another SEC team.

that can fellate UF and tim tebow while saying the spread is dead deserves little if any of your respect. under most circumstances i'd say you should disregard what he says on tv because he's being told to say whatever dumb thing he says (like pretty much every ESPN "analyst", i assure you mark may is not that dumb) but danielson says the same stuff even when he's not on the clock. he really believes what he's saying.

He has been the biggest front-runner for who ever pays his paycheck for years... his whiney voice is like nails on a chalkboard and really he does not add much to the game in terms of analysis or breakdown.

To hear him shill for the SEC, so blatently the past few years has been almost criminal.

IMO, Danielson is a microcosm of everything that is wrong with sports broadcasting today.

remember in 2006 when 97.1(i think it was still 1270 then) had GD on after florida had won their game and sealed the deal to go to the NC game against O$U? well GD was on with karsch and art, and doug asked him straight out why he was rooting for florida to win the game and kept bashing michigan and the big ten. GD spun it to make him sound like he was doing nothing wrong and then went on to bash kirk herbstreit about him being at big ten homer. well 2 days later herby was on with karsch and art and they played the GD comments for him. lets just say kirk was not all that happy.
