At last, the Wolverines vs. The Rock.
And not the Dwayne Johnson one. Although, that would be fun.

Will this be a home game for the Rock? ;)
August 30th, 2012 at 12:11 PM ^
That's odd.

Beilein's son is there. We're doing them a little favor.

Is there a better time in the offseason than when schedules get released? Because when I got that tweet my heart started beating faster.
Seriously makes my day to finally see this thing.

tough stretch of games in early february with games @Indiana, Home v. Ohio, @Wisconsin and @ State. Should be a good test to see whether this team is Big 10 contendors.
August 30th, 2012 at 5:57 PM ^
We also play State back to back at home Saturday (Mar 2nd) and Sunday (Mar 3rd)... can't remember last time we played the same team back to back at home.

from the wolverine.com
"Michigan will serve as one of four regional hosts for the 2012 NIT Season Tip-Off on Nov. 12-13. U-M's pod will include Bowling Green, Cleveland State and IUPUI playing four total games to determine who will advance to Madison Square Garden over the Thanksgiving holiday."
"In addition to the possible trip to MSG, the Wolverines will head back to New York to face West Virginia on Dec. 15 in a neutral site game at the New Jersey Nets' new arena, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. "
Well looks like they're making two trips to NY.
"The Hawkeyes are one of four teams U-M will face only once during the regular season. The other three will be Nebraska and road games at Minnesota and at Wisconsin."

Anyone looking for tickets to the Dec 15 game, feel free to check out the ticket options from the NY alumni club. Due to the size of the group, the club has good prices compared to whats available through ticketmaster.
NY club Dec 15 ticket info here.
The club is also set with MSG to finalize a large group of tickets for the NIT games as soon as its confirmed that Michigan is into the semis.

This info is probably worthy of its own post a few weeks down the road. Great stuff...thanks for sharing.

This is the first time I actually recognize every school on the schedule. I don't see any schools like Alabama A&M, Arkansas Pine_fluffs, Bryant, or Saginaw Valley State on the schedule. It's a sign of good things to come. Go blue.
My projected starting roster: Burke, THJ, GRIII, Morgan, MM

SVSU is on the schedule.
August 30th, 2012 at 2:01 PM ^
The size of that lineup makes me warm and fuzzy. I think Horford will play a big role this year too. Same with Stauskas.

Why would they schedule the home MSU game during our spring break?
August 30th, 2012 at 1:07 PM ^
Because the "they" in question is the Big Ten, not Michigan, and they don't care when our spring break is.
August 30th, 2012 at 1:20 PM ^
Indiana game is during spring break as well. Stupid Big Ten
August 30th, 2012 at 1:02 PM ^
I'm confused about the Michigan State home game(s). Why are we playing MSU back to back nights at home in early March? Shouldn't we only be playing them twice (once on the road, once at home)? Or am I reading that wrong?
August 30th, 2012 at 1:09 PM ^
It means they haven't decided which night it will be (likely because of TV). We will only play one of those games.
August 30th, 2012 at 1:20 PM ^
WVU should be nice. We've stolen their two best coaches in history so it should be interesting.
August 30th, 2012 at 6:57 PM ^
They seem to be doing all right without them.
August 30th, 2012 at 8:14 PM ^
Actually, we sent them their best football coach ever (Don Nehlen). He was Rodriguez's mentor.
August 30th, 2012 at 1:30 PM ^
After a quick glace, it seems that they have an exceptionally weak non-conference schedule. That seems to come in to play in March when they’re putting together the bracket (quality wins vs. bad losses). Anyone with thoughts on this? I personally liked seeing a game against a Duke or a UConn or a UCLA at some point during the year and it improved our strength of schedule come March.
August 30th, 2012 at 1:53 PM ^
No random, borderline unwinnable, out of conference road game placed right in the middle of a crucial conference stretch. What kind of an ridiculous schedule is this?
August 30th, 2012 at 2:19 PM ^
Is it just me or does the conference schedule sort of build up to the first two weeks in February, with that being the largest extended grind in the season? It seems like Northwestern bookends a stretch were we should hopefully do pretty well. I like the MSU-Purdue-Indiana close to the season as well - particularly with MSU and Indiana, it would be awesome if all those were competitive and meaningful.
August 30th, 2012 at 2:47 PM ^
I hope they beat the living hell out of Arkansas when they come to Crisler.
Last year, the hogs shot 90% in the first half against us. It might have been even better than that as they couldn't seem to miss from anywhere on that court.

I was looking forward to two games here in Iowa, one vs. Iowa State and one vs. Iowa, but nooooo, the ISU game is gone and we only play Iowa once. Will be heading somewhere to catch the lads in deepest, darkest winter.
