Quote of the day from RR: "I have a hard time rooting for Ohio State no matter who they're playing... I don't want them to win their spring game!"

That made me laugh. It would've been funnier though RichRod actually understood the rivalry. A "real" Michigan Man would've spontaneously burned Jim Tressel in effigy. /sarcasm Anyways, nice quote. I'll be sure to watch those videos when I get a chance. Edit: Added the /sarcasm since I got negged and I don't know if it's because people didn't get the sarcasm.

It's my understanding that people in West Virginia have a negative view of Ohio themselves... ironically, they think of Ohioans as snooty and overly arrogant. So it's not a big leap.

Boy, it's really awful to have a head coach willing to take the time to talk to a bunch of touring season ticket holders during one of the busiest times of the year for the staff. I'm sure the visitors will all complain about how terrible RR is with the public and doesn't get the OSU rivalry and talks incessantly about Justin Boren and West Virginia and says nothing about the current Michigan team. Carty should get a Pulitzer.

but I should mention that I take a face-painting class on Saturdays and Sundays. We've been focusing on cherries, tomatoes, and the color of Boren's marinara sauce the last month. EDIT: I'm not sure why you got negged for this, but I'll toss on my flame-resistant suit for fear of guilt-by-association.

People ask, 'Coach, how many games are you gonna win this year?' My answer: we will win as many as we deserve to win. NOW he tells us... he could have saved the board dozens of threads over the last three months.

Thank You Maizenbluenation, I enjoyed the video. Best part to me, and the one thing I have liked most about Coach Rod since day 1.... "We Will Win, When We DESERVE To Win"!!!! That statement alone is why I have thepatience and faith in what Coach Rod can and will do with for this University. GO BLUE!!!!

He's fun, he's accessible, he works hard. Lloyd and Rich Rod have two obviously different styles, and I have had no problem with either. However, I do enjoy having a coach that will actively tell the world, in the media, why it's great to be a Wolverine fan. Once this team wins, starting this year, it's going to be a lot of fun. Hail Rich. EDIT: anyone else notice the slight hesitancy when he started talking about Sheridan? Funny.

at the end of part 2? I liked how he explained how the coaches would be getting after the players. Haha

Anyone catch the "Eeeeee, Barwis!" moment when RR stated that only 1 player exceeded 300 lbs in the power-clean last year, while 30 players did so this year?

Did you guys catch an aside when RR was talking about how we went from 1-30 guys this year that can power clean 300? He mentioned upperclassmen "who had never done that before" last year. Huh? If I heard that right, prior to Barwis our guys didn't do power cleans? WTF.

I liked Rich Rod a lot when he spoke at his very first Michigan press conference. He's down to earth and he doesn't bullshit you, but he also has a pleasant demeanor.

but I thought the most interesting thing that he talked about was when he said that more of his players listed OSU (8) than Michigan (5) - when he asked them to list what they thought were the Top 3 Programs in college football.

I was hanging out with a "Nutt" over the weekend in Vegas and he really got into my head about Rich Rod and the fact that he isn't going to make it at Michigan because of this and that and the other thing... After seeing this video and hearing him speak I am sold! I am ALL IN FOR MICHIGAN! Screw the buckeyes! I love the comment about not being able to root for them. GO BLUE

but only because I'm tired of repeating myself to ignorant people. For now, I just nod and say "yep, sure" to the idiots. I'll wait patiently until the Rodriguez Revolution is complete and let that do the defending for me. It's coming. I know it in my heart!

... RichRod gets us back to the promise land and wins a national championship and goes on to be a Great Michigan Coach (Yost, Crisler, Bo, Carr), I believe the point from 6:10-6:40 on vid2 may be one of those documentary type moments ... "the team, the team, the team..." that will be used to build the RichRod legend. Great stuff. Fired up. Can't wait.

It certainly fits the criteria of being simple in and of itself yet hard for many people to do, mentions tradition, downplays that "we're Michigan" but not insulting it, it's probably pretty true, and nobody can really say something bad about it. Those are the criteria that I would use to determine if a moment could be similar to "the team, the team, the team...". So, yeah, it's very possible that that could be something that gets remembered. I don't think it'll ever beat "The Team" but you weren't saying that and I think most people wouldn't think that.

... the "it's coming, it's coming, just give us time." right at the end. If it's true, it almost becomes prophetic, which is why it fits into the documentary I'm constructing in my head. Definitely not comparing to the team... that's much more powerful. I just like the potentially prophetic nature.
