Cowboy Classic Jersey and New White Jersey

Submitted by ItsaDamnGame on

I was at Dicks Sporting Goods tonight and saw both new jerseys and have 2 questions:

1) Are you buying the Cowboy Classic jersey before the game or after the game when we win?

2) Have you seen the difference between this year's $65 jersey and last year's?

To me, the quality is much better this year.  I'm planning on being at Dicks Sunday morning when the doors open to buy the Cowboy Classic jersey - mostly because my wife is such a diehard fan, she won't let me wear a jersey they haven't won in and hated the "legacy" jerseys from last year.

What are your thoughts?

Hate to break it to you, but he said in the Cowboys Classic uniform release that Michigan might consider wearing another jersey if they make a bowl and adidas offers one.

I can assure you they will, because it will make money.

And I will buy one, because my eyes light up when new gear comes out.

Goddamn it, stop spending your money on these.  Go to the bar and drink, buy a block M hat, buy some stock, use it on your mortgage, take your wife out to dinner, or literally anything else in the world.  $65 for a shirt?!  This is out of control and I can almost see the dollar signs in Dave Brandon's eyes.  Outrageous.

Please.

Hey Herm, until you come to terms with the fact that you cannot control other people and their actions, you'll never find any serenity in this world. Take care of #1 and don't waste your time concerned with other people's affairs.

Herm, its not a waste if you can afford it.  Besides, I have to replace my #6 away jersey. Also, shouldn't you be powering down for the night - its getting late.

Perhaps people of my generation would prefer to spend their extra money in different ways, so I'll accept that as a reasonable, though (to me) not entirely comprehendible answer.  Also, you may not realize this at your age, but you sleep much less, but more often, as you get older.  I'll drink a Tom Collins at about 10, be in bed at 11, and probably be up again by 4.  I usually just play solitaire and watch the news.

To those of you above, your actions are contributing to my stress.  I'd prefer to not see this program turn into Oregon in the coming years.

That's why I drink them at home and never order them at restaurants.  If you just have a drink at happy hour before you go to dinner, you'll save more money than you can imagine.

A Tom Collins is gin, ice, lemon juice, a cube of sugar, and club soda.  It is a really wonderful drink for the summer.

that a Michigan Man would use "incomprehendible" as it is not a real word, at least in the english language.  Sorry to be the grammer police, Herm, but you are starting to piss people off with your jersey rants.

The appropriate answer to both questions is to not buy jerseys, especially super-special alternate jerseys. There is an age limit for jersey wearing. I think it's around 22.

That is true for basketball jerseys. They look ridiculous on over weight, balding, middle age men. Football jerseys are awesome as long as they are not worn
in a public place (inside the stadium on game day in acceptable). I think a man should be able to purchase and wear whatever he wishes on the privacy of his own home.

Your wife is a keeper.

Jersey wearing guide, by sport, ranked by age at which wearing one is no longer acceptable:

Basketball: 10

Football:  25

Baseball:  30

Hockey:  50

Divide by at least 2 for acceptability limit in non-game-attendance situations, except in case of hockey in Canada, basketball in certain hipster outdoor concert festival contexts (Lolla, Pitchfork, etc.), and a blanket exception (genre specific) for certain musical performance categories.

I don't see the problem if you are wearing them to games and while watching games ONLY. That's the only time I wear my jerseys. Have em for every sport you listed.

I put my Michigan Hockey jersey in a box and put it under my bed when the season ends and take it out when the next one starts.

Now wearing them out to the supermarket in the middle of July, that's another story....

I love how you casually mention your jersey ritual like it's just something you do after you bring in the patio furniture and put a cover on the gas grill.  From the quote alone I can't tell if you're 8 years old or 38 years old but I think I like you Devotee, I think I like you!
