2012 Season Review

The most anticipated season "preview" is here - the "2012 Season Review" by THE KNOWLEDGE

.

as people on this very blog very well know (and the newbies will get to know), this "preview" is the most accurate because it is not a truw preview, but a review of the season which only THE KNOWLEDGE can provide based on the information about the future

.

yes

.

as everyone will recall, THE KNOWLEDGE revealed a 2 loss season for Michigan in 2011. many was the number of fools who laughed at it and said those were unrealistic expectations of Michigan; however, there were the wise folks - the followers of THE KNOWLEDGE - who immediately understood that was what was going to happen and spent the season in great joy and merry

.

THE KNOWLEDGE soared again, leaving every doubter in a trail of dust

.

yes

.

the time has now come for the 2012 season review. in this post, THE KNOWLEDGE shall provide the overall season record of Michigan and also open the competition for the CO-SOARER OF THE KNOWLEDGE award

.

in subsequent posts, THE KNOWLEDGE will reveal the OOC and conference results and open THE KNOWLEDGE CHALLENGE - SEASON II

.

yes

.

this year, the award CO-SOARER OF THE KNOWLEDGE is given to the person(s) who correctly predicts the participants in the National Championship game. last year, unfortunately, no one claimed this award

.

to make this easier, THE KNOWLEDGE shall now provide the pool of teams from which the participants in the National Championship game will come. these teams are:

san diego state, usc, oklahoma, lsu, alabama, wisconsin, washington, oregon, west virginia, and michigan

(CLUE: most people will be tempted to predict a Michigan-SDSU matchup that features no punts or field goal attempts, but matchup does not happen)

.

now, to make it tougher, THE KNOWLEDGE requires that the participants in the competition also predict the correct score of the title game. only the person(s) who predict the correct score will win the award. The award is too prestigious to be given out to "closest guess"

.

so make your predictions

.

yes

.

originally this was supposed to be the season that Michigan won the National Championship - sending Brady Hoke off to the NFL as there would have been nothing further to achieve in college. however, since Hoke and his coordinators have decided to stay at Michigan for a few more years, the future has been altered and Michigan's championship has been postponed by several months

.

Michigan will finish the 2012 season 12-2

.

yes

.

THE KNOWLEDGE shall bask in glory again as these results move from the future to the past

.

leaving every doubter cowering in the dark

.

yes

We will be out in Pasaden with that 12-2 record.

Losses to Alabama and Purdue for us I bet.

National champs are 1-Loss USC beating 1-Loss Alabama

HOWEVEA 1-Loss LSU will still try and claim a title despite not making its conference championship game, because , you know, they are in the SEC, which is decisively better at football than everyone else with powerhouse teams in its conference like Florida, Mississippi state, Ole Miss, Vandy, Tennessee, Kentucky, and now Missouri and TAMU(!)

Clearly a slate of teams like that in a single conference makes it a far superior conference and therefore just as worthy to be a co-national champion despite not winning even its division.

Oregon beats Oklahoma 70-66. Since you already know the outcome will you announce the winner right away or wait for the event to occur? I assume the latter to keep us all from running out to Vegas to profit?

Oklahoma and LSU in the championship (both 12-1, after some controversy that Michigan is left out, after its own 12-1 seaso, with a loss to Bama).

Final score 24-17 OU over LSU (LSU is able to figure out how to get past the 50 yard line in a MNC game, only half way through the second quarter, after OU has a 14 point lead. They don't catch up)

Ah, THE_KNOWLEDGE, I have been awaitng this post so that I may too bless the mgoblog faithful with my perception. Perhaps you remember me? I am, after all, your protege, and the first to ever correctly guess the exact score of a game in a Knowledge Challenge. You and I share a gift, and it is in this post that I will prove it.

Michigan will indeed finish the season 12-2, as THE_KNOWLEDGE claims. Let it be known that Alabama will have another fantastic year, and make it to the national championship. USC's journey will in some ways be unclear, but it will make it as well. My final "prediction" is that the game will end with Alabama the victors, by a score of 24-20. Alabama fans will rejoice, and I will soar alongside THE_KNOWLEDGE.

Remember folks, knowledge is power!

With that said, I'm predicting...

LSU over Oklahoma by a score of 24-16.

Alabama drops the game to LSU while Oklahoma breezes through a diluted Big 12. LSU loses a game they shouldn't  in the SEC, but gets in via its win over Bama.

I am the opposite of the knowledge.  I am completely clueless as my coaching past has revealed.  For this reason, after careful thought I am picking Kansas over Notre Dame in the MNC by a score of 71- 70.  It will be a defensive struggle but my offensive superiority will prevail.

All plausible SEC teams negate each other, so undefeated Pac-12 and Big-"12" champions end up playing each other. USC is significantly better than Oklahoma, hence the not-so-close score.

Oregon finally gets it done, 33-30 over Alabama in the MNC.

Michigan's 2 losses will be against Alabama and Notre Dame. Most seem to agree that a loss to 'Bama is not the end of the world.  I've been saying 10-2 for the regular season for awhile, and I've decided that a loss to Notre Dame would be acceptable because we absolutely cannot lose to Sparty again, and it's also time to start beating Iowa again. The only other game that worries me is Nebraska, but I think we take that one, albeit in a much closer battle than last year.  Man, wasn't that fun watching M tear Nebraska apart last year?

I'm always a little confused about The Knowledge impersonators.  Something like, posters with names The.Knowledge versus THE_KNOWLEDGE versus THE.KNOWLEDGE etc etc. trying to emulate the original.  (Yes.)  Its come up before on the board.  (Yes.)

Which is the real The Knowledge -- and I'm assuming the OP is the real one?

Or is that like asking, "What if God was one of us..."?

EDIT: USC 34, Alabama 13.
