I hope that this is just a temporary setback for one of my favorite players in this year's class.   Hopefully, his rehab will go well and he can use the time to get ahead in school. Good luck to him.

Well....that just sucks today. Good luck to the kid and here is to a quick recovery for him. Time for someone else to step up and be ready when called upon.

I really was thinking we might see him at some point this year - this is definitely tough to hear.

Hopefully, he makes a full recovery and is back at it as soon as possible after rehab. If the film on him is any indication, he has awesome potential at DE, so hopefully he can get healthy and realize it here at Michigan.

If Batman can heal his broken back in 3 months, I'm sure Chris can heal his knee in a couple weeks, right?

But in all seriousness, I am sorry to hear about this and wish Chris a speedy, successful recovery.

Well that sucks.

Hopefully he makes a full recovery. One of him or Strobel was most likely going to redshirt, so now that decision has been made, although Wormley seemed to be more college ready.

More importantly than this year, hopefully he makes a full recovery. He has incredible potential, and hopefully an injury like this doesn't de-rail it.

This sucks, he was probably going to get the 2nd most playing time among defensive freshman (Bolden #1)...

With that said, I have a "sleeper" for all of you to remember. Keith Heitzman. Look for KH to battle Nathan Brink for the #2 spot at strongside DE behind Roh.

Would have helped him anyway. An ACL injury is nowhere near as devastating as it once was. He will be fine and come back next year in complete beast mode. Get well soon Big Worm.

On the bright side...  well... uh... shitballs. There is no bright side.

Get healthy, kid. And watch out for Heitzman. Apparently he's been eating people.

Heitzman has always stumped me.  He was 1st Team All-State DE in the largest division in Ohio, over a ton of great DEs.  He had crazy production playing in said largest division, earned a trip to the Big 33 game, where he owned fools.  Hoke and Mattison took one look at him and said "DO WANT" as soon as they got here.

He seems like an Ojemudia type where his only real gripe is size.  Well, he's big now.  I'm surprised he hasn't been talked about more, probably due to his meh recruiting rankings.  I think he ends up with a great career here though, and he'll be the Jake Ryan of 2012.

I've come around on Heitzman.  I wasn't too impressed with what I saw in high school, but he's put on a good chunk of weight/muscle since he arrived.  I didn't think he was athletic enough to be a small-ish defensive end, but if he can maintain some of his athleticism at his current weight, then he's got a chance to be good.

The ONLY silver lining here is that a. He's a freshman and b. he's a lineman. So a redshirt year if it has to happen will help him in the long run ( we hope)

I don't think there's such thing as a medical grayshirt, but a kid who grayshirts pays his own way and isn't a part of the team.  I'm sure that won't happen.  And you can only medical redshirt if you've already had a regular redshirt, or have played in the first couple games to where you can't use a regular redshirt.

Wormley will just take a regular redshirt.  He can apply for a medical redshirt if he misses a second season due to injury.
