Take your redshirt and heal up. Come back stronger than ever.

A set back is just a set up for a comeback.

The maize and blue family isn't going anywhere. We'll be waiting for your return!

Why are so many people acting like this will have a big impact on our season?  If he was going to play it would have only been in the case of token time.  Obviously it's never a good time for a serious knee injury, but it is better for the future of his football career that this happen now instead of say in the middle of his junior year or whatever.  For all we knew he may have had some lingering stability issues in his knee from high school and this was only a matter of time.  Now that it has happened he can spend the season working on his rehab and studying the defense.

Well, our starting SDE will be graduating after this fall, and Wormley was one of the likely candidates to take his spot in 2013 so it would have been nice for him to get some PT this year to prepare for that.  At the very least, he'll be a depth guy next fall and even garbage time experience helps that.

It might not be a terrible blow to this season, and it could be worse both for the team and for Wormley. HOWEVA, it sucks for Wormley to have to rehab. It sucks that he misses an entire year worth of practice reps. It sucks that he'll be limited in his physical development. And it sucks that odds are he won't be 100% for next season.

It's not OMG PANIC. But it still sucks for all involved.

There were other threads/comments, but what is the board opinion now. I know there's a discrepency between WDE and SDE; does this change the equation?

Everything that one read about this kid was positive, including a number of opinions that he might contribute this year.  Let's hope that he can power through the rehab and come back in even better shape.

Well, that sucks to hear.  Well, at least it was early enough for him to get a redshirt and the team can prepare for his loss.  I didn't expect a huge number of freshmen to play this year, but Wormley seemed like he would see the field depending on depth issues.  Ah well, on to next year.
