NFL fantasy football open thread

Submitted by ClearEyesFullHart on

I haven't seen one of these this year, and I thought it would be nice and tidy if we kept the NFL stuff in one thread...

Just to kick things off...10 man ppr, 10yds rushing or receiving =1pt...

I am in a league with a ridiculous amount of bench slots(8!)  which has me thinking about stealing handcuffs(guys that will be useful when/if the starter goes down).  In what order would you pick these guys?

Bernart Scott

Ronnie Hillman

Taiwan Jones

Rashad Jennings

Rashard Mendenhall(ACL)

Jacquiz Rodgers

Michael Robinson

Ryan Williams

Isaih Pead

Dion Lewis

Bernard Pierce

Chris Rainey

Tim Hightower

Alex Green

Montario Hardesty

Javon Ringer

Delone Carter

Ronnie Brown

David Wilson

Kevin Smith

those guys are mostly free agent fodder in a 10 man league. Rodgers and Kevin Smith are the only two I'd expect much out of if they were on my roster.

This is just our first year with 8 bench slots, and I dont want them to go to waste...In the past when players have gone down their handcuffs have always been available on the waiver wire...I'm thinking with 8 slots not so much anymore.

I have Stafford and Ryan Matthews as keepers. Stafford for a ninth rounder and Matthews for an eighth. have the ninth pick this year (finished second last year, ugh) and am going for receiver/rb probably. (the tenth pick kept his first two picks from last year-Rodgers and Megatron-so I have two in a row). I'm pumped.

in a ppr league quiz rodgers might be worth a look. I would also consider Hillman, Pead, Ringer and Wilson.

Some of these guys I've never even heard of, and ESPN projections can only take you so far...

What do you think about Green Ellis in Cincy?

Or Isaac Redman in Pitt

Or Steven Ridley?

Which of those guys do you think have the best shot at being a decent #2 back?

Redman looks like he will be the starter in Pittsburgh and could be a very productive player this year. Just be carefull about Mendenhall's return as it could hurt Redman a lot.

As for the other two backs you mentioned I would try to stay away from them unless they were to fall a little bit below there projected value.

Nothing is more important and interesting than your own fantasy team.  Nothing is less important or interesting than somebody else's fantasy team.

I worry about my bench, I have Ryan Williams, Leshoure, Fleener, Stephen Hill, and Kendall Wright.  Those guys all have 0.00 under 2011 points.  Who knows, they could all have the capabilities to have great years though
