OT: NCAA Fantasy League

Submitted by Craze for Maize on

The earlier thread got me wanting to do this. The draft is August 11th (Saturday) at 8 ET. The 6 power conferences + Independents are available to draft from. There are 4 divisions with 6 teams in each.

Please only join if you'll be available for a live draft.

EDIT: Alright, from what I can tell, it looks like just leave your email address, and then I add it to the list. I don't see any other way to invite. If you don't feel safe putting it out on here, mine is [email protected] so just send it there.

Got into nfl fantasy football last year and liked it. Haven't tried NCAA fantasy yet. Can some people give me brief experiences on being in a league? I only ask because it seems like NCAA would be more unpredictable with huge swings week to week.

but i was all stoked to do an NCAA football league too a few years ago. we did the same thing you are doing format wise and it was terrible. we did it 1 season, all 12 guys hated it and basically it was way too difficult bc of schedules etc.

good luck with it, just letting you know my experience with it was very tough.

We had ten players and opened it up to all 120+ teams.  It was way too many available options.  Since then, we've had a blast.  We decided that the amount of teams that you should be able to draft from should be about 2.5 times the number of players in the league.  In my 16 team private league this year, we're including B1G, Pac12, SEC and independents.  That puts us at 42 available teams to draft from with 16 players.  Much more enjoyable.

With this league, if all 24 spots get filled, we should have 60 teams to draft from in theory.  I think the BCS+independents comes out to around 70, so it should still be fun.

also, while checking out the Fantasy College Football, this tidbit of information popped up...

"Analysis: Sam McGuffie made the move in the offseason and will play not only WR, but a host of other positions. Coach David Bailiff confirmed this saying, "We're going to play Sam everywhere. We've even worked him a little bit at guard because he's really quick at pulling and trapping on those linebackers." Considering McGuffie only saw 38 carries last season, the move can only help raise his fantasy value. "

Sam McGuffie will play RB, WR, and OG?!
