Still Choppin and other "popular" college theme songs
Just a little bit of relief for your sore pride, folks. We may not be pleased with "In the Big House", which unfortunately is coming to a godzillatron near you soon, but we can no longer be singled out for that.
It all started, of course, with "We are ND".
Then of course, there were classics like LSU's and many others.
Now comes an official FSU production, Bane - Still Choppin
So at least we've got ever increasing company. I maintain that it all starts when you let Big & Rich get involved. It's downhill from there.
I can't believe college gameday still intros with that brutal song that's gotta be like almost 10 years old?

These never, ever, EVER turn out well. Don't know why they keep trying. I thought the whole world would've learned it's lesson after 1986...
No surprise Mizzou lost to a 15 seed in the NCAA Tournament after this was recorded:
I literally dozed off after listening to Sliver and Black for two minutes. Its sweet 80s tones made for a pretty nice lullaby. Too bad the song is six minutes long, and Howie Long's horrendous rapping woke me right back up.
What is the pride in still choppin? Take a break from your choppin for a minute or two. It's alright. You can chop again later on.
As embarrassing as "In the Big House" is, it sure seems less terrible compared to these songs. It's like the mediocre girl who has ugly friends. In this analogy, "We are ND" is the still the DUFF.
I'm grateful that my Michigan music degree allows me to appreciate how truly awful this focus-grouped music is.
