Includes some practice video. Denard looks fast, Forcier can throw, nothing new, but exciting to see!

Did anyone else catch RR's answer when asked if Minor is a 1000 yard rusher? He's hoping for two. That tells me he thinks it's at least a possibility that Carlos could have a big year. It also tells me there will probably be a bunch of 2 RB sets this year. Yes pls.

to just Carlos Brown.
After watching that video, while I know these guys are young, I wouldn't be ultimately surprised if Shaw or V. Smith, if given enough carries, got to 1,000 as well.
And, don't forget that Tate and Denard will probably be running the ball 5-10 times a game as well. That yardage will add up.
This team could be a Georgia Tech - level rushing behemoth this year. If the RB's stay healthy we can rotate 6 RBs, plus 2 rushing QBs. Sheesh - get ready for 38 minute time of possession games for Michigan, just like West Virginia did in year 2 under Rich Rod.

Sheridan made some great passes (especially to Mathews who was wearing the green shirt) and looked fairly fast in his running. As RR said, he makes decisions faster than the two frosh. I think at some point this year, he'll win some games for us.

I wonder how many poor plays last year (poor throws, fumbles, etc.) by everyone, including Sheridan, had to do with players not feeling comfortable or confident in the new offense. Personal doubts have a way of destroying performance. With everyone more comfortable with the offense, I would expect play to improve significantly.

I know there wasn't much video of each player, but I'm came away with a different take on Sheridan. I didn't see him exhibit the speed of Tate and especially of Denard. He did look decisive and crisp on his throws, but none of them were downfield. I'm still concerned he won't be able to stretch the field (like last year) with his arm and defenses will play up and take away the run and short passes.

Sheridan = Death
Say it. Repeat it until the thought is buried deep into your psyche.

Thanks for slapping me back to reality. I was almost ready to buy something I really didn't want.

We have to remember that these videos come out of Central Propaganda and only show us good stuff...no missed passes...no drops...no bad reads...etc. etc. etc. Likely if we try to project anything from the one or two snaps/drills that you see in these videos it will reflect nothing of the reality of the situation. They are fun to watch, get the blood pumping for the season to start, but they don't really mean a whole lot.

Oh, so you mean when Tate held on to the ball way too long and took a sack, that was actually a good thing?
August 19th, 2009 at 12:57 PM ^
Yeah I saw that bit too, but maybe, just maybe he does not throw it away because it is just practice and he knows that he is not going to actually get hit? As Coach keeps saying over and over and over, this is all just practice. We really will not know how ready our guys trully are until after they have played an actual game. Was Tate hurried because the defence is sooo feekin' good? Was it a protection breakdown? Was it a coverage issue? Making a judgement based on a five second clip prepared by Central Propaganda is a little premature.

You play how you practice, and practice how you play. E-fact.
