He wasn't ready to decide last week, but now after the Green visit, he is....maybe he is taking the leap now that he has a second chance to commit before Green (doubtful though)

I don't think it's certain that Michigan has given up on him. They told Leon that "we might not have a spot for you after this weekend," but that of course isn't the case. While he apparently dropped Michigan from consideration, he also said he was going to announce in November not long ago. Until some more concrete information leaks about as to the current circumstances, I think we're still in play.

Then again, I'm also in the camp that really wants him to be one of the last two guys, so I only see positive theories.

His father had a somewhat disconcerting response in the comment section of the Detroit News article about Leon. Granted, he was upset about something negative a poster had said, but he responded with something to the effect of Michigan should feel lucky they're in the top three with the NFL powerhouses they've turned down.

While this isn't necessarily a negative, we'd obviously hope he sees that we offer more than those other schools, and should be not just in the top three, but the best choice for Leon.

Here's hoping this circles around back to us.

Don’t get me wrong, I think he would be a fantastic addition to our class. The thought of M3 and Dymonte locking down the two S positions for 2-3 years makes me giddy.  Maybe I just have my “Garnett-shield” up to avoid a let down, but I am very uneasy with this commitment coming right after what just went down.

Interesting news considering he dropped us from his top 3 because he wasnt ready to make a commitment... maybe after dropping us it made him realize he wanted to be a part of this class

...I'm at all concerned about this is that "someone else we're recruiting hard" might not feel the pressure to announce anytime soon.  And I'm impatient....

I think we're out of it. Us ending our recruitment of him essentially left him with one school left he wanted to attend (Vandy), and I think this is just the after-effect of that. Good luck to him.

Vanderbilt has been the constant through all this talk and changing of top 3. He has 2 former HS teammates playing at Vandy right now.

Once Michigan came off the board, I didn't see any of the other schools he had on his list as real options. I never bought USC as a realistic option as they already had 2 safeties in the fold, and just took their 18th (and theoretically final) commit yesterday.  FSU came out of nowhere so I doubt he would commit there now.

Kind of funny how his reason for dropping Michigan this past weekend was that he was not ready to decide now.

USC is "full" and we are "full" at DB.  Vandy is neither of those things and has been at or near the top of his list all along.

Vandy would have to be the heavy favorite here.

According to Tremendous (the blog site, not just the person), there was a 60% chance that Green would commit yesterday, which then turned into a 100% chance ("60=100" tweet).  So... yeah.  Guy is gunning for page clicks.  He is the detroit free press of recruiting.

The "60=100" thing was obviously a joke (one that you missed).

I love how people on here complain about Tremendous when they pay $0 to get the same information that Rivals/Scout provides. And the Tremendous guys are actually personably/funny too.

I don't need a bunch of bullshit info from guys like Tremendous / Sarah Hughes / etc. that are just ASKING for page clicks to their twitters / websites.

I have a subscription to ESPN and RIvals, and I love MGoBlog.  You don't see Brian out there on the twitters / this site reporting "breaking" news that is just a bunch of crap / half-baked thoughts.  That shit doesn't go on with Rivals or ESPN, either (and I'm sure it's the same way at Scout and 247).

Essentially our media has moved into a "first to report" mantra instead of an "accuracy of report" mindset.  It frustrates the hell out of me.

I also hate how they force me to follow them on twitter and read what they write. You'd think with my own free will I could just not give a fuck about what they write because I don't read it, but no, I'm forced to read it and log onto other sites I like to bitch about it. The nerve of them, providing free information that I don't like

1. If you don't want Tremendous' take on something, don't acknowledge it and just ignore it.

2. You're acting like Tremendous is Ace Williams or something.....if you took the time to read his blog, you'd see he's pretty damn good at what he does and he's providing it for free. He has a good track record.

3. Brian is not a recruiting analyst.....so I don't know why you're comparing him to Tremendous. And Brian has reported "inside info" from anonymous (at least to us) sources before. You must not read this blog enough if you've never seen any.

4. Comparing sites that require a fee to view their info to ones that don't is apples to oranges. If ESPN or Rivals is wrong, they could lose members and thus $. Tremendous, at worst, loses some clicks. But people will still read his analysis because it's freaking free. Pay-sites have much more incentive to absolutely make sure that what they say is 100% correct, because if they don't, they're out of a job. Tremendous is afforded the luxury of being able to say how he feels at all times with minimal consequences.

247sports messed up and ran an article about Green committing to us.  It seems like our very own BISB got in on the twitter action.  Not only is he a mod on MGBLOG, but apparently he is trying to mod the entire internets.

247Sports reply ---> ": these things happen."

Dan, these things do happen. We are sorry. Be an adult and stop acting like we slapped your mom.

. JC, it's your "credibility" not mine!~ I'm not Derrick Green (), No need to apologize to me!

My credibility is just fine but make sure you drag as many folks into your rant as possible.

my "Rant"? Saying "don't apologize to me, apologize to the athlete" is a rant? Whatever bro!

Fans have no business tweeting at prospects ever.

Okay, everyone put the Twitter down and count to 10. Don't make me turn this internet around.

Millions of tweeters, ban the prospects then. Only a few hundred of them.

What you have to understand about the majority of recruiting analysts is that they are ex-jock/fratboys.  They relate to the athletes, they were friends with athletes in college, and they desperately wanted a job in sports.  They have the ego to go with the ex-jock/fratboy attitude, so they get into huge tiffs about minute things, and carry grudges that are hard to break.  They form their cliques (Scout/Rivals), they have vocal falling-outs (Rivals/247), and hate it when a new guy comes on the block (their vocal distaste for Sarah Hughes, Tremendous, and others; heck, they even hated on TomVH while he was here).
