Phelps actually swam the fastest split of any U.S. swimmer in the race.  The team lost.  Lochte was actually overtaken in the final 25m.

Hey, quit being an asshole. Put spoilers in the title so it doesn't ruin it for us who like to feel the suspense of the situation...

A proper title would be Spoilers: Olympic day 3.

Not a nice way to frame that race. Phelps totally dominated his leg, and the US would have won if Lochte wasn't so gassed b/c of the schedule. Ergo another reason that is a bad thread title

I was going to write a critique of the intelligence of the OP, but this is clearly a troll posting this for sole purpose of irritating people. Which is, in itself, a substantial critique of the OP's intelligence.

I came looking for hello posts and got this instead. Really useful as a time saver, because now I won't have to watch the event I was really looking forward to tonight.

Can we have an automatic account suspension for any user who gives away spoilers, to be enabled after the Olympics are over? So we can cut this out?
I'd really like to see a swim result that isn't announced here first.

Thanks mods and meta world controllers and otherwise powerful people.

I try to keep an even keel on stuff like this. I realy do. But in this case, I am compelled to express the following:

FUCK. THIS. SHIT

I'm on my phone, so the negbang must wait. I'm tempted to initiate a system whereby we cave people who do this shit for the remainder of the Olympics. And then we beat them with socks filled with bars of soap. Haven't worked out the logistics yet.

I would support it 110% + 200% + 1000%!

On top of that, assho*** who do it intentionally (like  he clearly did) deserve the permanant banhammer!
