This will undoubtedly come off badly, but I'm not against having a program where some kids leave provided they are not carpet-bombing the program on the way out.  This feels like a playing time issue (pure conjecture, but based on his suspected position on the depth chart), and thus more normal attrition than what we saw for a couple of years.

Wish him the best.

Agreed. Every year posters fret re how we'll get from 22 to 24 or 23 to 25, having failed to remember that August camp always shakes out a few players who transfer or quit as soon as they don't win spots on the 2-deep. The roster is forever in flux. If you've got 21-22 slots in July, you'll almost certainly have 25 by Signing Day. Given the average rates of attrition, M will be able to pull a full 25 most every year. Isn't this obvious by now?

Sad to see him go, I always had hopes for him and his brother when they got recruited.  But it was appearing more and more likely that he was only a depth/ST guy.  Best of luck to you where ever you go, Terrence.

Firstly, which rating service are you talking about, since they have different methods and rankings.

Secondly, it depends how these kids play their senior year of high school.  There's still time for a lot of movement in the rankings.  We've taken a few lower-ranked kids who the coaches have seen and loved -- if a couple blow up in their senior seasons, then those jumps would be akin to adding high-level recruits.  USC, meanwhile, I don't think has taken any of those types of kids.

From the horses mouth. He got in a scuffle with a D-Lineman and both got written up by coaches. Talbott didnt like the punishment, he missed a practice in protest, refused the punishment for both incidents and decided to quit. I know the kid and didnt see this coming. Knowing his background and the chance he had it is really sad to see this happen and the decision he made. Proves that you dont know what you have till its gone. Ill be praying for you Terrance

I will if you try, but he didn't. I don't know him, so I have nothing to say except bye. I just don't say good luck to quitters or losers. When I fail at something, because of a lack of discipline I don't expect someone to say good luck. Please use your good luck offerings wisely MGoBloggers.

Just wanted to make a statement about some of the things being said about Terrence Talbott. Terrence was proud to be a  Michigan Wolverine and many of his frends and family became fans because of him and his brother becoming wolverines. I can tell you this was a very hard decision for him. One of the hardest decisions he has ever had to make. He was and still remains loyal to the University and the football team. Due to personal (nothing criminal or because of the any of the things people are talking about) issues he chose to leave.

I ask you all to please be considerate of his feelings and pray for him. He is a young man who is venturing into a new phase in his life. Some may not understand or agree wth him but this is a lesson and a journey he has to take.

We have been reading many of the post and appreciate some of the comments and some well we just chalk it up to speculation and misinformation. He does want everyone to know that he will always bleed maize and blue and he is thankful for the opportunity he was given to become apart of such a prestigious program.

I know all of this because I am his mother. Please keep Terrence and Terry in your prayers.
