Hey guys, just got back from a 3 day weekend up north. Did I miss anything today?

Seriously though, why can't two teams with some of the most iconic uniforms in college football actually take the field to play each other in fucking said uniforms?! Better yet, both teams should wear their home uni's. The NCAA allows it if both teams agree and I think it would look really good for this game.

given the fact that the whole basis of the game is not a home-and-home, but rather is a one-off on a neutral field site, in Dallas.  There could not be a better circumstance for a double-home-uni game.  Especially since the colors are different, both pants and jerseys.

Getting the NCAA to agree to that petition ought to have been a piece of cake, compared to waiving a real, clear, inflexible rule like the requirement of numbers of a certain size on the front of jerseys.

I don't understand how people can clamor for sticking with tradition in one breath and then bitch about gray face masks in the next. That's a clear contradiction.

I personally like traditional, clean cut, simple jerseys. But I'm also a 36 year old former student and briefly athlete. What does my opinion matter. Am one of 85 men on scholarship to play football at Michigan? Am I an incoming recruit? No, neither of them, so my opinion means about as much as almost everyone on this board - NOTHING!

This does help recruiting. And yes, before you come running at me with Alabama, Texas, USC, and Oklahoma - lets just be honest here - how many national titles have these teams won in the past decade, or even played for? We had 2 straight losing seasons, a few 4 and 5 loss seasons, and honestly, no one cares about tradition of the program anymore. If they did, Notre Dame wouldn't still be trying to wake up the echos for the better part of two decades now. Furthermore, USC and Texas are the flagship programs in two of the most fertile recruiting states. Michigan, if you haven't noticed, isn't a hotbed for tons of top prospects.

Even classic programs like Ohio State have done the alternate jersey thing (and at a much worse level), and they've played for 3 national championships in the last ten years (cheaters or not).

Finally, I think Brian went through and detailed last year the history of the white road jersey - and it has been constantly under some sort of change. Maybe not every year, but at least once a decade, if not more. So it's not like they are messing with the home jersey which has pretty much remained the same since at least Ol' Number 98 was bringing Buckeye fans to their feet in the Horseshoe.

My thoughts from an elder Wolverine.

I probably would normally be OK with something like this - as it is at least not the atrocity that we wore in EL last year. But today? Do these really have to come out today? Fergodsakes. Even if these were debuted tomorrow I feel like I would react more comfortably. Why must we rub it in today?

and minus 1 million to all of the idot shoe company marketers who come up with this crap.  They say bad things come in 3's and I guess this was it.  Just a rerrible terrible day for Michigan football, but I guess we can be gald we are NOT Penn State.

We definitely won't be Oregon.  We're only wearing these jerseys for 1 game, and honestly, the 1 game off-jerseys are huge hits with more casual fans and especially recruits, so I think it's a sacrifice we should be willing to make.  Just my opinion, but I don't think we'll ever see the day when we wear 12 different uniforms a la Oregon.

Look like anyone who expresses an opinion that is not the same as Brian on this blog gets neg bombed from the MGoSheep. Way to have an open mind guys. Leaders and Best.

Plus it wasn't all DB and Adidas. If you read the article, the seniors helped design this uniform. I like the traditional jerseys too buy its fun to switch it up from time to time. No matter what the jersey looked like, many of you would have disliked them simply because it was another new design. There is nothing wrong with a little change up from time to time IMO, however maybe we are doing it a bit too frequently lately. I still kind of like these.

I think it's slightly funny but mostly sad that half the fanbase croaks when we change the uniform for a game.

We are tradition, but you can't always rest on that.  Sometimes (read: always) you've got to adapt to the future a bit.

until after the game. I wonder if we would feel less ill toward the bumblebee if it came with a big W over Sparty. I expect I will order one of these if I have a win in Dallas that it reminds me of.

The maize seems to be more true to the old school maize. Obviously, I have never liked your uniforms, but this is definitely worse than your standard road kit. The maize stripe is the main culprit. Honestly, though, the main reason I'm posting is because I'm shocked at how many different jerseys you guys have worn in the past year. The once a year alternate is not a bad change up, but you guys have had 5-6 now, right? Dave Brandon is releasing uniforms the way he would've released pizza promos.
