Michigan/Purdue 10/6 Single Game Football Tickets On-Sale, via Purdue website
If you were planning on attending the football game at Purdue this year on 10/6/12, single game tickets went on-sale today through the Purdue ticket office. I tend to purchase my road tickets from the opponents website because in the past I've had better luck with seat location. The only unfortunate thing is that I am then usually stuck right in the middle sitting with the opponents fans instead of Michigan fans unless its at Northwestern where the majority of the stadium seems to be Michigan fans. Just thought I would pass this along for anyone who was interested in attending this game. Below is the link that I used to purchase the tickets. I was able to get tickets on the 50 yard line about 40 rows up. I think in the past I recall that the Michigan allotment was in one of the lower corners of the stadium closer to the goal line. Also I believe there was a section typically in the south endzone.
$78 for a 3-game mini-season ticket package that includes the Michigan @Purdue game. Damn, tickets at Purdue are cheap!
I've made that road trip already 6 times for Michigan @ Purdue, the last 2 times got the tickets early thru U of M's Ticket Office and was seated in the South End Zone. I think that's where all the visitor's allotment is, though I may be wrong.
Two of other 4 times I went I bought tickets outside Ross-Ade Stadium and twice thru their ticket office---tickets always seem to be plentiful and inexpensive. I hate those South End Zone bleachers except for being among other Michigan Fans, and they now have separate entry gates to make sure fans with seats there don't move to better parts of the stadium. On the other hand, if you have tickets NOT in that South End Zone, it's relatively easy to move to different seats there once the game is underway.
probably because the one video board in Ross-Ade Stadium is in the South End Zone, along with much of the stadium's PA system. This also means that, in order to watch any video-- replays, live action, stats, etc., --you have to turn around and miss what might be happening on the field.
Purdue did make some small improvements to concessions and restrooms several years ago for fans that are seated at that south end zone, but IMO those facilities are still sub-standard.
I believe they also did some improvement work on the south bleachers themselves, but, being that they're built upon steel framework (like high school bleachers) rather than concrete bases, it is all too easy to drop belongings such as gloves, hats, programs, binoculars, etc., etc., to the ground below. Good luck retrieving things!
No wonder those seats are so cheap; no wonder Purdue seats visiting team fans there.
It's not that Purdue tix are cheap; it's that Michigan tickets are expensive. USF, for example, sells season tickets from $75 to $249. $249 gets you in between the forties in the lower bowl.
Obviously, Michigan is a far better product, but they charge a lot more money than most places, too.
but unlike ohio, no double-deck. Last I checked the capacity was 62,500 with plans in the works to modify the stadium in the future to add a second deck along the east sidelines (West sidelines already done with new pressbox and suites/club seats added about 8-10 years ago) , remove entirely the South End Zone Bleachers (to be replaced by either Athletic Department offices or landscaping), and then finally extend the 2nd deck around the North End Zone.
I have a nephew there who's about to begin his junior academic year there in their College of Engineering, he told me he doubts they will ever do that deck around the North End Zone because there is no ticket demand except when ND or IU play there in alternating seasons.
As for the present configuration, sightlines are decent-to-good practically anywhere within the main part of the stadium other than that South End Zone. Atmosphere is generally mediocre-to-poor, though, as it usually is at any stadium with a lot of empty seats. And annoyance level is pretty bad, too, between that awful "Boiler-Up!" cheer of theirs and the faux Locomotive "Choo-Choo" Train noises that eventually make you wish for death-by- vuvazelas instead.
"Boiler Up" has to be the worst cheer imaginable. I think "Hoo hoo hoo Hoosiers" is close as well.
THERE IS DEMAND FOR AN INDIANA/PURDUE GAME.

Yeah, they have trouble filling their stadium as it is. There's no way they can fill it with an extra 20K seats or whatever an upper deck would bring.
I am going to my niece's wedding that weekend in Alabama, and so no Purdue game for me. I will be trying to go to Minnesota and Nebraska, at least. Oh yeah, I'm going to the 'Bama game!
for the night game at Notre Dame. I am pumped. I haven't been there since the awful fumble-filled torrential game in 08, and I am hoping for a more positive experience this time.
I bought tickets three days before the game that were on the 30 yrd line 25 rows back. It was a crappy, rundown staduim - but it was fun to see a college game that close. Getting tix like that at UM is just a bit more difficult...

I just got 10 tickets in the North Endzone section 117 Rows 33 & 34!
The nice lady that I talked to said that the Michigan fans tickets are in Section 118... anybody know if this is true or not?!?
