Sounds like he's still interested in visiting other schools essentially to rule them out, but he's not ruling out commiting anytime the feeling is right.

Apparently Sam Webb has security clearance to stalk teenagers in major American airports.

SW: Why did you say your ready to make a decision?
LQT: "I think I found my favorite school"... the process has been stressful... this morning my mom said I could make a decision if I want to.
SW: Are you prepared to commit without visiting all of the schools you're interested in?
LQT: That's the big reason I haven't commited yet. Once I've visited those schools, I'll definitely be ready to commit. (but sounded open to the idea that he may not make it to all of those school before commiting)
SW: When will you be ready to announce?
LQT: Just when I'm ready to.
SW: Have other recruits been in contact with you this morning?
LQT: Shane.
I did catch the part where he specifically pointed out Shane as someone who has been in constant contact with him. I must admit, that was the first smile I've cracked during this otherwise wearing day of continued storm clean-up. Hopefully, the fact that Shane was the example he gave bodes well, but no one should begrudge him the extra time to make the decision, of course. I do agree also that it sounds like he would still like to make some visits for purposes of being sure, and if nothing else, the more time that goes into this decision, the more solid he will be in it, whatever it may be.
I agree... and the last 24 hours have flipped my impression of his potential commitment. I was solidly on the "the longer this takes, the less good it looks for Michigan" band wagon not to long ago when he was saying he hadn't been in contact with the Michigan coaches for a month. Now it seems pretty clear that he just wants to make absolutely sure that his gut feeling about Michigan being the right place for him is right. We'll see where things are at next month.

That would be #12. I can recall at least 2 occasions listed somewhere before on here where he said he was told that Hoke said he would wear #12 and another of some picture he posted with the helmet number on some letter he received. Maybe I'm losing my mind but I'm quite positive it will be #12.
to give him number four. I do think I've heard twelve, like you say, but it would be cool to bring back Harbaugh's number, IMO, and it would be cool to have Shane be the one to do it.

We've already seen that Hoke doesn't want committed players to visit other schools. It makes sense for him to use all his official visits before verbally committing to Michigan or whatever school he decides.

He was going to take official visits to those places. I'm not sure that he was planning to visit before the fall...
