This could be good. If I am not mistaken he is most likely with a bunch of our guys at the Opening. After the week with the Wing's so far this would be a great way to turn my spirits around. I just hope that if he does commit to us that he is 100% ready and not just trying to rush into a decision.

My speculations have been off all week dammit. I guess it is probably a good thing despite rooming with a ND commit at least we have 7 or 8 different guys most likely in his ear as much as possible during the whole event.

From what we know about his recruitment, it doesn't seem like there's another strong contender here.  Of course, we've all been mistaken before but I'm just not seeing it.

I think he's probably tired of the entire process by now and just wants to get it over with.  I think he's been holding out for holding out's sake to this point.  I think he gets further indoctrination from the other members of T-134 and the commitment comes soon thereafter.

I agree.  And I don't think the coaches would accept a commitment unless he's 100%.  The things that bother me about this is that just a week ago he planned on visiting Oklahoma and Ok. St. as well as possibly visiting USC.  Thats a huge change in such a short time.  Guess we will find out "soon" according to the young man himself.

He had a scheduled trip to Oklahoma canceled a couple of months ago because of severe weather.  But you're right, that was a couple of months ago... seems that he's had plenty of opportunities to try to go again.

Plus, he wouldn't be the first commit to say that he's planning on taking several officials, and then go ahead and commit before official visit season even starts (see Cravens, among at least half a dozen others I can think of).

wounder if its crunch time.  Hoke, or whoever he is being recruited by is telling him that he is still plan a but they aren't holding a spot for him, and if plan b wants to commit they will give the slot to him.

but has the ship completely sailed on Ty Isaac??  Say we land Treadwell, we have LTT & Boesch.  Can't we get the Core 6 IL group to flip Isaac?  Probably not a chance, but our offense is going to be unreal with our OL recruits and Shane.  I'm picturing the next Anthony Thomas/Tyrone W clone...........

Isaac sounds pretty set on USC.

I think our best shot would be Kiffen commiting another NCAA violation.  Having the entire cast of Oceans 11 show up at a recruit's hotel room must be some kind of violation.

I'm sorry to have to be the pessimist here, but this kid is not coming to Michigan guys. I've seen this movie before, and I know how it ends. Whatever is making him reluctant to commit is not likely to change all of the sudden. I have no hard fellings if the kid goes elsewhere. It's an important decision and both sides have to be comfortable. For whatever reason, it just isn't a good fit.

...what's making him reluctant to commit is that it's a huge decision and it's still the middle of the summer, he still has some schools he wants to see. I understand wanting to protect yourself from disappointment by using pessimism, but I don't think logic really supports it in this case. However, we are talking about a teenager...

He detailed it in his first post, speculating that other commits that have seemed to be in the bag but have dragged out their recruiting have had a high probability of going elsewhere.

I, for one, don't get that feeling with LaQuon.  I do think you guys need to stop negging this guy for having a dissenting opinion.  He's engaging in a conversation.  We are not the opinion police, well maybe we are, but we shouldn't be...

It's not a good fit because the kid didn't commit immediately? I'm not really sure why you're so convinced this isn't going Michigan's way. Have we been so spoiled with this class that kids we're recruiting aren't allowed to go through the recruiting process now?

He was offered back in Oct of 2011. So no, the fact that he didn't commit immediately after his offer is not what's leading me to believe that he isn't coming to Michigan. We're way past the "immediate" period. It's more the fact that Michigan has been recruiting him very hard, that we can offer immediate playing time and the chance to be the go-to receiver in the class, that we're bringing in a stud QB, that we're close to his home, that we're starting to invite other WRs to visit, that recruiting trends are indeed changing and kids tend to pull the trigger early when they find the right fit these days, and yet he remains uncommitted despite all that. It just seems like he might not feel Michigan is the right place for him, and that's completely fine. I'm just making a prediction based on what been reported. Maybe I'll turn out to be wrong. I guess we'll see.

It's 100 times better than your first comment. Had his tweet affirmed his desire to take his official visits or wait until NSD I would be inclined to agree with you. However, you've just described all the reasons he would change his plans and commit sooner than he would ideally prefer. So, if his tweet means what it seems to, you're making a good argument that he's coming here.

True, but he also seems to want to visit schools and make the right decision for himself. It is nice for the fans to have these kids commit early but it is probably better for the kids to be able to visit the schools not on te kids dime and utilize what he learns to make the best educated decision for himself. Oklahoma and Oklahoma st put out good WRs in passing oriented offenses, so it makes sense that he would want to visit them, especially since it isnt cheap to travel their with his family. Maybe he Just wants to see the other schools before eliminating them and doesnt want his parents to pay for the visits when he can get free ones. Sidenote: I have forgotten his other top 2 schools.

Also, how do you know some of the things that make Michigan so attractive such as immediate playing time are not also available at other schools? Do the rest of his top 5 have talented QB recruits or freshman on their teams? Not every recruit jumps the gun when they know the school they like. See Poggi. Tremendous did an interview with him where he stated he played his recruiting close to the vest in order to promote his teammates and make sure lots of recruiters could see the younger guys on his team. See also Jordan diamond. I understand your concerns but until he says something more concrete about liking other schools, I think we are in the drivers seat. Also, we started offering other WRs because our other targets started indicating they were going elsewhere or their interest in us never improved (see massington, north, Larue, quick, foster, etc).

Kids "dragging out" the recruiting process, not naming leaders, and being deliberately cryptic about their intentions isnt always a selfish thing. Henri Poggi (and many others) did it to keep big programs visiting his school to get exposure for his teammates.
