Do we have a realistic chance here?

Also, which other receivers do we have a chance with other than Treadwell?

We have a chance with Paul Harris and Devon Allen, maybe Darren Carrington.  There are a few options, but Treadwell is probably the best bet.

Bailey's recruitment has been a little weird. Normally, I'd say it's a bad sign that he knows he wants to decide in the next month when he hasn't visited yet, but he also put us in his top 3 without visiting, so who really knows.

so would it be better to get bailey and mcquay or just get treadwell by himself?  I think its a winning situation either way but I would have to say i want treadwell more (this is under the assumption we are only going to take 1 more wr since our remaining spots are getting low)

I'd rather get Bailey and McQuay than Treadwell by himself.  Bailey is plenty good and can stretch the field, and while I think Treadwell is the better overall prospect, McQuay could play cornerback or free safety.  And as much as I like Dymonte Thomas and Jarrod Wilson as a pair back there, having a third safety who can push those guys (or pass them) would be great.

That's wishful thinking, though.  I really doubt Bailey and McQuay would both come to Michigan.

I think Bailey and McQuay are supposed to be visiting in the next few weeks.  Our main competition for Bailey is FSU.  It would be nice if this one goes our way.

I'm pretty sure George Bailey is going to stay at the buildings&loan. Although I have no insider info on that, just my gut. I hear his younger brother is also going to be a football star.

I agree.  I think if Bailey likes what he sees he commits.  If he commits I doubt Treadwell does.

I have been getting more and more skeptical about Treadwell anyways.  I know half our fanbase already has him blue but I'm not so sure.  I believe if he liked us as much as everyone thinks, knowing we are running short of spots he would have committed by now.  The fact he's still visiting teams like Illinois is also telling.

If Bailey commits I like our chances with McQuay.  Whereas Treadwell has been one of my favorites all along I think two birds in the hand is worth more than one in the bush.

sorry bro, I disagree with that reasoning. if Treadwell has been told that the coaches are holding a spot for him (as has been reported on these forums numerous times, though maybe only informed speculation at best), and we all know Treadwell loves being fawned over, then his behavior and lack of commitment at this stage make all the sense in the world.

what's more puzzling to me is the propensity of a lot of people on this board to get all hot and bothered about some kid they know nothing about simply because he has a few stars next to his name.

tremendous used to have a "Michigan man?" category on his recruiting analyses. yes, it was silly and added almost no value, but that's not the point. fast forward a few months and we are experiencing a ton of success and now it's like "who gives a sh*t! if he's got stars I want him!....more more more stars!"

The point isn't whether we are holding a spot for Treadwell.  The point is if we get another WR commit I don't see Treadwell coming here.  Believe me I would love to be wrong.  Just don't see it happening.

As for Bailey.  I don't care whether he has stars or no stars.  Have you watched his video?  The dude has moves.  I think our coaches are impressed as well, otherwise they wouldn't have offered him knowing it might have an impact on Treadwell's decision.  And McQuay is a stud and we could use another DB/S.

Why does bailey's decision have any impact on Treadwell? either way, Treadwell will be the no. 1 or no. 2 guy. I don't think the fact that we are taking other receivers less talented than him matters one way or another.

thanks for negbanging my post because you disagree. keep it classy bro.

Just because he plays the slot doesn't mean he wouldn't take Treadwell's spot.  If Bailey commits, it would give us three receivers, and 22 commits overall.  That would mean we'd have one, maybe two more spots left, and the coaches might decide at that time that Treadwell isn't the guy they want more than any other guy on the board, and I wouldn't blame them.

Also - what if Bailey and McQuay both commit, not in the next couple weeks, necessarily, but before Treadwell.  Then we might be full, and LT would be SOL.
