That is an absolute ton of rain, can't fault the refs for stopping play. I do wish they had kept playing though, it was fun to watch the players sliding around like that lol. As someone who stayed through the Western game last year, I know just how much fun the fans must be having right now.

First time I see a game of this importance suspended, it is a ton of water, I guess as soon as the lightnings stop they will resume the game, even if the rain hasn't stopped, unless of course the ball cannot roll in those puddles

The field in my home town was water logged so bad once that a helicopter was called in to get the water off the field so a huge youth tournament could continue.

Looks like they're getting started now.

France looked good against England, they deserved to win that game.  I'm interested to see if Ukrane is legit.

It's obviously been crazy here and on everywhere.  I was at a ''club'' for the England-France game last Monday where it was on a projector....about 200 people watching it.  It was pretty crazy as there was some France fans watching it there.   For the England game in a couple of hours, I will be trying to find more of a traditional pub to go to.  Anyways, I am hopping on the England bandwagon while I'm here sort of.  Hope Croatia wins it all, though.

Speaking of Soccer games... Is anyone going to any of the Friendlies in the US this summer?

There are a couple that I am really seriously considering getting tickets for...

I honestly was not a fan of soccer like 2 months ago, but I am legitimately obsessed right now...

I went to the US vs Argentina game at the Medowlands in Spring '11, and I must say I recommend it. Seeing international stars play is a GREAT experience live. Last summer I got to US v Canada in the Gold Cup as well, and despite being a lower level game, it was awesome.

There are a ton of friendlies between various club teams across the country, though...

Being in AA, games in Chicago and potentially Pitt will bet the closest...

AS Roma plays some Polish team at Wrigley, and the game i'd really like to see (if it actually happens) it AC Milan v Newcastle at Heinz Field

Now that Ireland is out I'm throwing my full support behind Denmark.

I'm also rooting for England because I think it would be funny if they actually exceeded their fans' expectations for once.

Holy moly. The Sweden/England crowd are doing the Seven Nation Army chant.

I think it has officially jumped the shark now.

How The Song “Seven Nation Army” Conquered The Sports World

The march toward musical empire began on Oct. 22, 2003, in a bar in Milan, Italy, 4,300 miles away from Detroit. Fans of Club Brugge K.V., in town for their team's group-stage UEFA Champions League clash against European giant A.C. Milan, gathered to knock back some pre-match beers. Over a stereo blared seven notes: Da...da-DA-da da DAAH DAAH, the signature riff of a minor American hit song....

So Dave Brandon didn't create this amazing song just for Michigan fans to hear at least ten times a game?  Darn, I thought he had finally created a really wonderful 6 or 7 year old "tradition".  Hell, maybe he'll kidnap the Wisconsin badger mascot next and dress it in Maize and Blue, very few people know what a Wolverine really looks like.  Those mascots a God-awful representations anyways.
