Let the Sparty Schadenfreude begin.  The writing was on the wall for months with this kid.  I'm pretty sure he never even visited MSU's campus.

This was the guy that many state people used as an example of "national recruiting" for this year and how they got a guy out of texas. lol.

Because he didn't live far enough away. He wants to focus on recruiting Pangaea. It's an effort to add a temporal challenge along with the previously noted national challenge.

Yep, recruiting has been better than usual but not on either lines. Norman should commit soon now that track season is ending. Also alex gall from moeller hs said he would commit on the spot and they plan on offering him at camp. Weve had good luck from guys from moeller: Greg Jones, Marcus Rush, with Monty Madaris ans Shane Jones in the pipeline. Still hav to remember its only June though.

MSU wasnt showing interest till yesterday (probably knew benenoch was out), they invited him to camp today and he is expected to get an offer and commit. he declined an offer to camp at OSU apparently

I don't know jack about Alex Gall, mostly because Michigan has been done with OL recruiting for 17 months, give or take.  But (again, according to 247) Michigan State visited him on April 16th. So either (a) they visited him despite having no interest, (b) yesterday was April 16th, or (c) they showed interest before yesterday.

Gall is a three-star prospect from Moeller-- the same program as MSU recruits Monty Madaris and Shane Jones.   According to 247, his leaders are:  Miami, Wisconsin and Kentucky.  He seemed to be pretty high on Wisconsin, but they haven't come through with a scholarship offer yet.

I think that MSU may have visited him, but weren't really pursuing him that hard.   Similar to Cameron Dillard, they may have cooled on him once they figured that Benenoch was on board.

I don't know anything about any of these kids, but it seems like kids are committing to Dantonio before they get an offer from the school they'd rather go to.  I'm sure this won't cause him any unnecessary rage.

MSU only wanted 1 OT and they projected Benenoch to be an OT so they cooled on Gall and Dillard and never offered either. Now that benenoch is gone, they are starting to recruit Gall again, and who knows, we may even throw an offer at dillard during the sound mind sound body camp. In any other year, Gall would be a plan A guy, but since this class is pretty small (7 or 8 spots left), he's a plan B guy.

Clearly this is not RationalSpartanFan.

He's burning a couch somewhere.

This other guy is pining for 3 star commits "because Coach D will coach em up" and "stars don't matter".

Jeebus I hated 2008 to 2011.

Here is  their spin on it from a few days ago, before the decommit and news of an offer:

http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1374461

Most everything in here indicates that he had a pretty good experience at UT's camp, including his meeting with Mack Brown,  where he got his Texas offer per SBNation.

I guess the take-home message for Dantonio is that you have to provide a map to people so they can get out of the weeds lest they exit at  the wrong end of this vast unkempt field and end up at other schools.

This kid has been jerking MSU around for a couple months. Always tweeting about other schools and visiting all of the southern schools. If he was committed to Michigan he would have been a de-commitment way long ago. Hard to see him leaving the south now.

Spartyfreude here.

My favorite quote is from Page 3:

Caleb is quickly becoming my favorite recruit, I like the kids fire and I love that he's a solid Spartan already.

Sparty Fan #1: "Coach Dantonio must have cooled on him".

Sparty Fan #2: "You know, he never even visited Michigan".

Sparty Fan #3: "It wasn't a commitable offer".

Sparty Fan #4: "We don't need four star recruits...Coach D will coach 'em up".

Sparty Fan #5: "rabble, rabble, rabble, scUM, rabble, rabble".
