I'm always split on 3:30 games for non big games. It gives me more tailgating time, but I also like to watch the other games. Also tailgating for non big games is not nearly as fun as tailgating for OSU, MSU, Notre Dame...
Luckily, it's still early in the season so there are not many great games scheduled that day.
Ohio plays Cal at noon. Sparty plays Notre Dame at 8:00.

Looks like Wisconsin is continuing their tradition of "tough" non-conference schedules. They play Utah State right after our game is done.

I wonder where the 2013 game against UConn will end up getting played? It looks like the UConn AD is either sticking to the home and home or holding out for a big monetary concession from Michigan:
Warde and Dave are tight. I see them getting a deal done in the end - either to move the game to Gilette/MetLife or allow Michigan to buy the game out.
The main problem with relocating the UConn game is that there's not really an appropriate larger stadium within Connecticut to play the game. The Yale Bowl is bigger, but it's pretty decrepit. University officials and the AD are supposedly reluctant to move the game out of the state because of backlash from state reps who shelled out $ for their stadium and would like to see it benefit state merchants (as well as the state's revenues via sales taxes, hotel taxes, etc.)
Giants stadium or Foxboro are the obvious out of state alternatives, but those are likely to cause political headaches for folks at UConn.
God motherfucking dammit. I hate 3:30 games. There's nothing to watch at noon anymore, which means that you have to wait longer to enjoy your football Saturday. You don't get to watch the other big 3:30 games from around the nation (not live, at least). Plus, you still sometimes miss the kickoff because the noon game in front of it lasts longer than 3 and a half hours.
Unless you live out west like I do, then 3:30 games are 12:30 games. Of course, true noon games are 9:00am.
Last year I was so freakin' wired for the first Michigan game I woke up and started watching ESPN at something like 6:00am. :-)
I wish games started at 9 AM local time. I could get up and there would be games waiting for me on the DVR. If Michigan played at noon, it would be like waking up on Christmas morning and finding a brand new Playstation under the tree.

Air Force is the Home Opener (8th), then UMass a week later (15th). Illinois is the Big Ten Home-opener on the 13th (Oct)
there are some other decent games on that day, might be some overlap. as much as i love going to a blowout, the relaxing day allows me to focus on the rest of the CFB world and the 330 game means leaving the noon games early and missing the beginning of the late games.

with that slate of games, I'm really considering missing a home game for the first time in three years.
This sets up for having potentially the first four games of the home season being at 3:30, as the Illinois game is already set for 3:30 as well. The MSU game will be the highlight game of the conference that weekend with "notable" match-ups being Purdue @ Ohio and Penn State @ Iowa. The rest of the games will be weak (Neb @ NW, Minn @ Wis, IU @ Navy), so it wouldn't surprise me if that game got slotted into the 3:30 space also. After that, you'd have to assume the Northwestern and Iowa games in November would start at noon, but who knows.
