Semi OT? - Mike Knuble Not Returning To Caps
Not retiring (hopefully), but not returning either.
I love Knuble. i thought he was a great asset to the caps. It also gave me a reason to wear my Michigan hockey jersey to Caps games. Best of luck Mike.
He has more grit than probably 90% of the guys on our team. I think he would be a great 3rd or 4th liner, he scored some pretty timely goals for the Caps. I would love for him to be a Wing, but the price has to be right I think at least.
Had a down year in terms of offensive production. Hopefully he can regain form. Before 2011-12 season, he had 9 straight years (one of those was overseas during the lockout) with at least 20 goals. Pretty impressive career.
is down the street from mine in East Grand Rapids. The first time I saw him was when he was with the Flyers. I'm a decent, not great, hockey fan. I struggle a bit to keep up with how teams other than the Wings are doing. I was making some small talk and mentioned that the Flyers had a pretty good season. He looked at me funny and told me that they just finished their worst season in like 50 years. It was about an 8/10 on the awkward scale.

I will miss Knuble. He might not have done much for us this past season, but the dude always seemed to come up big when we needed him.
I hope he finds a roster spot somewhere. If not, maybe he can join Wardsy in the broadcast booth.
