Still on commit watch? According to our newest commit we are & Jaylen Smith to ND -EDIT-

Submitted by ChuckWood on

"Michigan should be on the commit watch we have another one coming soon;)" - Maurice Hurst's twitter

EDIT: Side note, apparently Jaylen Smith commited to ND.  Unfortunate that we have to face him, fortunately it's not OSU.

EDIT 2: Tremendous said via twitter, "Michigan should definitely be on commitment watch in the next 48 hours." and Sarah Hughes says we will be very pleased.

The only one that comes close in my opinon is Pryor.

Outside of him, the only thing that crippled Michigan was Michigan's D starting with later years of Carr up to and including RR's last season. 2011 was the first year in recent memory where UM D actually came to play.

I should have edited my comments to read, "what recruit out of HS" has come to torment us as it is being said about Jaylon etc.

I don't recall either recruits above were ever candidates on the, "this kid is going to torment Michigan."

And obviously, both were prior to the internet/recruiting craze that now exists.

Recruiting fever had started to kick in when Troy Smith committed to Ohio, but he wasn't the big deal QB recruit for his class. That was Justin Zwick, who was very hyped and certainly was a draw for some of the other offensive skill recruits in his class. Somehow Troy Smith was able to win the job over Zwick, despite the hype. We all know how that turned out. Recruiting isn't the most exact of sciences, I guess . . . .

Pryor tormented his own school even worse than he did Michigan.  I call it a wash.  I am very glad he didn't end up in Ann Arbor, because it would have meant that Michigan was dirty.  Pryor obviously wasn't going anywhere that didn't have extra benefits.  No extra benefits = no Terrelle Pryor.

Pryor is sorta like a walking NCAA investigation that way.  Michigan passed; Ohio didn't.

Who is visiting today and/or tomorrow?  Can someone call the athletic department and find out or is that not kosher?  Does anyone have a list, it might help out.  It seems like most commitments happen face-to-face.

I was just asking a few reasonable questions, which, if anyone would have chosen to kindly answer, may have prevented the nonsense and non-information which appeared below.  This thread isn't any closer to the truth than when I first asked those reasonable questions.  Thank you.

Like I said in the Hurst "hello" thread (main page), I have such a man crush on you.  Every one of your posts is hilarious.

Magnus wrote up a list of who's visiting at http://touchthebanner.blogspot.com/2012/06/weekend-visitors-june-1-3-20…; It's just Hurst and a 2014 (current sophomore) offensive guard from Ohio.

If you call the Athletic Department, I'm sure they wouldn't say anything about who's visiting.  It's probably against the rules and certainly doesn't do them any good to share.

I don't speak to players, nor have I ever claimed to. Also on several occasions I've claimed that I am NOT a recruiting insider. It is difficult trying to talk about other teams recruits, but when they are national recruits, then coaches do talk. I'm sorry if anyone thinks I'm a recruiting insider.

By and large, most of us here understand that you don't claim to be a recruiting pro or anything, but most of us here really do enjoy and appreciate your thoughts. Don't stop posting just because there are a few people that have a little more attitude than is necessary. They may be noisy, but they are a minority. Your contributions here are well appreciated, and I am always interested to read them.
