Stupidest thing you ever done in the name of UofM

Submitted by WindyCityBlue on

So this whole OSU letter burning fiasco got me thinking about the stupiest things I have done in the name of our institution.  Its clear that ever fanbase has come crazies and even the more sane folks can act out of character from time to time.  So what is the stupidest, most regretful, or even coolest thing you have done in the name of the University of Michigan?

Me?  Well, I was dating this awesome girl.  Very attractive, great job, good values, decent smarts, comes from a good family etc etc.  But I broke up with her primarily because she went to OSU (well, the sex wasn't that great, but serviceable).  By dating her, I felt like I was betraying Michigan and I just could not get past it.  And she wasn't even that rabid of a fan.  I kept thinking that if I marry her we would have these babies wearing OSU gear and I hard as I try I would have a mommas boy that would end up going to OSU just to spite me.  Ahhhh, I should have married her anyway.  Drinks anyone?

I feel like the stupidest (and least classy) thing a Michigan Man -- or any man, really -- could do is comment on the "quality" of the sexual relations with their partners, current or past. This isn't RCMB, man.

for down voting our little humor.  Whoever you are, I really dont think Ghost actually had sexual relations with Denard.  It was just a little humor.

Painted my face to watch The Game in 2006...  in my apartment.  It seemed perfectly reasonable at the time.  But then I made the mistake of telling some friends.

I scheduled my entire wedding and reception around Michigan football. My wife was dead set on getting married in early Fall. So we picked apart the Michigan 2010 football schedule and settled on MICH-BGSU. That game was a total blowout, but I still refused to leave the house before the game was over. I came very close to being late to the ceremony.

my daughter is getting married this fall.  She is a M fan but when to CMU.  Her fiancee is a M fan too.  So they set the date around the schedule.  They settled on the Bye week.

I would hate to give her away via video phone while I am in section 6.

I got married ten years ago this fall. I live in northern Kentucky and set my wedding for the day that tsio played at UC so my obnoxious buckeye fan friends wouldn't be able to attend and anger me on my wedding day.

My senior year, I helped my buddy shave a block M into his chest hair then he dyed it blue. The look on people's faces when they realized what it was is something I will never forget.

I live in Korea and no one really watches football here (also its like 2-3 am for a game usually). Anyways after we beat Ohio last year, I ran outside screaming and cheering in the early morning. Most people thought I was crazy. Also stood outside an Ohio alums house and laughed at him. (same day)

After my high school graduation speech, I yelled "GO BLUE!" into the mic even after being told not too have it in it.  It kinda ruined my message and the mood of the speech and even graduation, but, hey, I was sticking it to the man (my principal graduated from Ohio) and was pumped to be going to Michigan.

But you know what, I'd do it again, too!

I had a minor league football game when we played ND in the UTL game, so I only caught the last 6 or 7 mins (I watched the whole game the next day). Well I just had a towel on, because I was going to hop in the shower after the game, so I can go celebrate with my teammates later. Well, Roundtree caught that TD and I jumped around and ran in every room of the house and my towel fell off and instead of picking it up I proceeded to keep running. My 2 roommates saw me naked and 1 of my roommates GF saw me as well! Thats my stupid reaction in the name of Michigan!

I have a bad habit of nervously watching big plays frame by frame so that the play unfolds slowly. I also have a dumb habit of pausing the television much earlier than is necessary without realizing it. Put those together and you get the occasional 25-minute, profanity-laced shit show that, it turns out, doesn't impress girlfriends and the like.

arguments with ND fans on Facebook. I pissed people off so much that some people, people that I used to call good friends, don't speak to me anymore. All my arguments were legitimate, and I never attacked the person, but the sheer number of argumentsand the clear disdain I showed for ND really pissed them off.
