OT- Memorial Day Thanks
I just wanted to thanks any MGo readers or bloggers who have served in the military, or have had family who has seved to make this country as great as it is. Thanks for doing something me myself didn't have the guts to do. I really respect all of the branches of the military and thanks for our freedom. Today is your day enjoy.
this Memorial Day? Nothing really special going on here, work then probably hitting the pool before dinner and bed.
proof read it.
i see what you did there...
Played catch with a baseball yesterday for the first time since I went to the Michigan Baseball camp when I was 10. My arm is sore as hell. Went in the pool for awhile to cool off.
Right now I'm enjoying a cold beverage watching the NCAA Lax national title game on ESPN.
all day enjoying the extra day off work...
for all the men and womenwho paid for all this freedom we enjoy with their lives.
Thank you goes out from me and my family to all members of the military. THank you for your service and sacrafice. You are the true heroes
You're welcome. It is an honor to serve, however I am happy that I get to spend this holiday with my family.
For all those having a drink with family and friends, make sure to give a toast for those that have given the last full measure for our freedom.
Have a great day.
+1,000,000 for the day. It isn't enough, but it's all I've got. God Bless.
Thank you to my grandfather, my great uncles that served in World War II who fought for our freedom.
Thank you to our friend of the family who is an active US Marine fighting for our freedom.
And thank you to any former or current member of the military serving our country that might be reading this post.
Ordinary men doing extraordinary deeds.
Thanks for the shoutout ManChild. But special thanks to all those that have gone before, for without them, we would be far less.
Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve both here and around the world. Your value to this nation is incalculable.
Happy Memorial Day to all my fellow veterans out there. Have a cold one for all of those who no longer can.
...advice. Don't mind if I do. In fact, I'll raise mine to my Dad and his two brothers, all three career Army officers and Vietnam veterans.
Let me add my thanks also to all those who have served. Btw, a friend of mine emailed me this link a while back; it's a virtual Vietnam Wall that allows you to search names and brief records of those listed on the wall:
A huge thank you to all the veterans that served before, with and after me. Its days like this I wish I was still serving and doing my part but after missing my fair share of holidays I am happy to be spending this one with my family.
But please remember the true meaning of Memorial day. It is a day that we remember all that have fallen on the field of battle for our beloved country. So to the families and friends of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice we say thank you. God Bless and Semper FI.
As an active duty officer in the Army and an alumnus of the UofM ROTC battalion, I thank you all for thanking us vets who served and are serving. We have many alumni who either did ROTC at UofM or joined after graduating serving as officers in Afghanistan right now or served in Iraq. Many are my old drinking friends, where we once would spend hours at the Jug or the Blue Lep, or go womanizing in Windsor before we were 21. Now, they are thousands of miles away, facing dangers that many of you will never even think of facing. Alone at times, and away from loved ones, it is very hard on you emotionally, not just physically to deploy. As this day comes to an end, I only ask that anyone who reads this try to take the mindset that everyday should be a Memorial Day. Not just one day out of 365. Go Blue and God be with our Troops.
I have not served but my Grandfather did (WWII), as did many of my cousins that I am close to. Thank you for all you do USAF.
You're welcome. It was an honor to serve.
