last year on memorial weekend, the first person in my group of friends got married in traverse city. it was a quite a weekend.

the morning after the wedding in the hotel we were staying at, wolverswede, who probably still had a BAC of at least 0.20%, looked up from his phone and said to me -

"Tressel resigned"

what a difference a year can make.

What kind of an asshole gets married on a holiday weekend? That must be one of the most selfish acts ever, not to mention, tacky... Like this post.

Assholes don't care, and that's why they do stupid shit like that. What a Dick! If your response meant do something about it literally, then you need a huge mirror. But I am sure it didn't and you aren't like your brother.

I don't see a problem with having a wedding on Memorial Day weekend.  For people travelling from out-of-town, you have a few more flight options and another day off of work without having to burn vacation time.  What I have a problem with are people who schedule weddings on football Saturdays.

No guy in his right mind "decides" to get married on Memorial Day. All guys "agree" to get married whenever the wife decides to get married.

Yah, well, I f'ed up my own post by misplacing the decimal, brah.  0.20% = a BAC of .002.... which is barely detectable.

So pretty much the egg is on my face because I was trying to be a smarty pants by pointing out someone else's typo, but I screwed it up with my own typo.  Isn't it ironic?

Seems like we've had a thread about bad weekends to get married, but I had family who got married on the third Saturday of November.   Thank Cthulu for mini TVs...

One of my sisters actually got married on Memorial Day weekend six years ago due to a converge of family availability and cheaper rates at the Dearborn Inn. She tried to make it work - there was a buffet with an emphasis on grilled meat and an open bar. Still, I don't have any real problem with holidays except Saturdays when Michigan is playing. I have made it quite clear that I will go to weddings only if they fall on a bye week. In any event...
