"NEW" Football Season Ticket Holder!!!

Submitted by HELLE on

I received my 2012 Football Season Ticket Application in the mail yesterday. I was on the Football Ticket Interest List with 12 Victors Club points. The letter says that I get 2 tickets and the seat locations will be assigned later in the summer. I'm just curious if anyone else received this letter, how many points do you have, and number of tickets offered? I am assuming the amount of Victors Club points required has increased significantly from a few years ago. If I had to guess I would say that 8-10 points was probably the minimum, due to David Brandon's love of the "a la carte" ticket packages over just allocating the season tickets to the Football Ticket Interest List as they become available.

and ...Yes... I believe that David Brandon places a value on renewable season tickets and until you have reached his price point in donations, their is no chance you will be offered tickets.

I couldn't justify buying season tickets this year with the home scheduled at hand. The only good game is MSU. I could get tickets elsewhere and still get great seats for a much lower price. Next year and every other year after is pretty amazing.

Too late for this year I think, but it's probably going to be difficult to get season tickets going forward if we have continued success.  So, buying into a bad home schedule season may make things much easier because there will be plenty of people with your current line of thought.  And then once you have the tickets in your name they're yours for as long as you keep renewing.

Congrats on becoming a season ticket holder!

Michigan Stadium is my Mecca.  There is no price tag I could put on my two seats.  The memories I have while sitting in them are priceless.  I'd take a second job to keep them.  I'll will them to my children... uh, can I do that?

The Baby Seal games are.... less than magnificent, and the weak home schedule every other year chafes....but Michigan Stadium is one of my favorite places on this earth.  Any day I can go in there and watch my team play football is a good day.

My Thoughts exactly!  Last year was my first year with season tickets and the memories that I've shared in the Big House with my Dad and Friends are priceless!  The UTL game was the most exciting live sporting event I've ever experienced!  I've watched the replay on my 92" HD projection screen and it doesn't even come close in comparison to being in that stadium that night.  So yes, amen to your comment!  GO BLUE!

To the OP:  I had 6 points last year when I was offered 2 tickets.  I now have 8 points and requested 2 additionals for this season.  Congrats on getting the offer!  I'll never forget getting that envelope in the mail!  Just wait until you get the 2 uncut sheets of tickets in the mail!  Talk about excitment!  Go Blue, BEAT BAMA!

No, you can't.  Can be bequeathed to your surviving spouse, but once he/she goes, they're back on the open market.  There would be very few "new" season ticket holders each year if the tickets could stay in the family.

I only had 7 points and got 2 tickets. I know the schedule isn't great this year, but I can give the tickets I can't use to Motts or a family member (I live in Nashville now). I already will be in Dallas and was planning on the State game, but I think I will try to make it for AF now too.

I could be wrong but I don't believe you need any points to get tickets.  There are seats in the endzone and corners where you don't have to have Victor Club points to renew,  You just wait out your time on the waiting list.  If you have made contributions and have some points you might get tickets quicker than someone that doesn't because seats in the preferred sections open up.

I just graduated this year and am still looking for a job (hopefully getting one soon), and would like some advice as to what to do in the future. Obviously the ticket deadline has passed for this season, but starting next year I'd like to be a life-long season ticket holder. I plan to get basketball season tickets starting this year and lasting until I can no longer see, but I don't know exactly how to accumulate these so-called "points". I understand I already have five(?) for being an alum and will probably garner more if I hold basketball season tickets. What moves do I then have to make to become a football season ticket holder in the future?

I am looking to go from 2 to 4 season tix (we have had a pair since 07-08). My kid is going off to college in the fall so I want my nephews family to come along instead.

I slung some $$ Brandonwards but have not heard about these extra tix. Anyone else in a similar situation?
