I think I would enjoy softball 10x more if it weren't for all the cheers and chants from the dugout. I have to put it on mute. Go Blue.

In high school, I hated when we had a baseball game at the same venue of the softball team. They would always come over and watch our game after theirs was done and they were so loud and annoying. Now, I've always been more responsive to criticism than encouragement, but still.

I read an article about how Hutch issues report cards every 11 games. Bench players are included and are graded on enthusiasm and engagement and how prepared they are to enter games. It's probably a good idea for them to participate.

One need only look at the batting averages to see how inaccurate that is. Softball is all about speed and putting pressure on the defense, especially at this level. Much better than fielding a groundball, pounding the ball into the glove five times and still getting the runner by 3 steps, in my opinion.

The bas are so low is because roughly half the at bats end in strikeouts. I am sure 75% is an overstatement, but a routine gb should not be a hit in my baseball-conditioned mind. Different sport, for sure, and not really to my liking. I understand others enjoy it. To each their own.

I meant what I said. I've used that in hockey before, when a referee calls a contact-to-head penalty, when the player was actually hit in the chest. I've told the referee that I didn't realize a person's head was located between his nipples.

So, no, that was not intended as a sexist comment, if that's where you're going.

Thats playing some team ball. She thought about getting out of the way, and then kind of leaned and stuck her elbow out. When people say "take one for the team." That's the kind of thing they're referring too. Hail.

I'm happy we won but she probably should have been out at third.

I know that we have gotten bad breaks before too so guess it's a wash.

Congrats and let's win that first game tomorrow.

Edit: Guess I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty and it's not like Louisville deserved it more.

Missed call third out on tag at third and HBP on strike over plate. Sucks to be Louisville.

Hard to top getting the inning extended on a bad call and then scoring the winning run on a HBP. But the bigger story is that Wagner has thrown two good games in a row against tough opponents. If she can hold teams to 1-3 runs a game, this team can keep going.

1) Michigan wins on a walk-off HBP

2) TV coverage constantly showing LARGE red bloated object situated behind and to the left of home plate

That was for sure an ump win, lane was out at 3rd and the pinch hitter moved her elbow in a little but i'll take it.
