Looks like our old friend Tate is going to Canada.

May the Forcier be with you

     And best of luck.

Painful as his time here was, it would have been unbearable without him.

Go forth and prosper young man.

He's gone from being a Wolverine to nearly a Spartan (granted, it was SJSU) to being a Tiger-Cat. If nothing else, he was never a Spartan of any kind.

I hope he can get something started in the CFL. Best of luck, sir. We have not forgotten your time here.

Glad to hear he's doing alright. After he didn't show up at San Jose State he basically dropped off the face of the earth, glad to see he landed somewhere

Some of us just read everyday.  Roughrider fan here, so as long as "Tate the Great" is in the eastern divison I can cheer him on.  If i wasn't such a posting noob, I'd embed the "Denard and Tate" Youtube video.

Wow Tate on College Football Live (CFL)?

just kidding... actually I was just thinking about Tate yesterday and was going to google him to see what he was up to.  Good for him to sign with the CFL. Clearly college is not for him.  He most likely wants to pull a Jeff Garcia and make the jump to the NFL someday.  Im not sure that will happen, though he has similar measurables to Garcia... anyway its good to see him pursue his football career.

this is a bad move for him.  He needs college coaching and first and foremost an education.  I see doom on the horizon, but best of luck and I really hope I'm wrong.

that maybe Tate is young man who needs to go forth and do a few things before getting serious about education and life after football. Kind of like several of the kids in my division in the Navy who enlisted, spent a while figuring themselves out while earning an income and seeing the world, and then went back ready to take on school. Quarterbacking, radio teletype and morse code skills may not be so useful in the real world, but having the opportunity to earn an income while you ground yourself is.

And who knows, maybe Tate has a long career. It isn't like he doesn't have skills.

I think Tate needs to learn personal discipline and some character; I hope he can learn it Hamilton. He has the tools to be a good and long-running CFL quarterback if he puts it together. And, who knows if that can translate back to the States someday?

For four games I thought that Forcier and the Wolverines could do anything. It was a fun ride.

Not sure turning pro and getting paid is the smartest thing for a young man who seems otherwise adrift. It might work if he stays in one place for long enough and has good people near him. And he must do the work, both on and off the field. Otherwise, the only thing left is arena ball.

Tate was made to be a CFL QB. As long as his skills haven't become incredibly rusty over the past two years, I think he'll do very well there.

Much more relevant than this Forcier thread. Tate will be gone in a month and in five years he will be a classic case of wasted potential. Hopefully he gets his life together but Im guessing he will do that after he gives up o football.

you should mention it, but there is a story and reason as to why (it's my hometown and I go to 3-4 games a year). Originally known has Hamilton Tigers, they merged with a rugby club many years back known as the Hamilton Wildcats. Hence Hamilton Tiger Cats (or Ticats as they are referred to).
